SWBF2 Modding / Help on munging core.lvl

Hi guys,
do you know why my munged core.lvl file is only about 250 bytes while the original one is 6.86 mb. Did I miss something? The file I munged doesn't have all the translated textes (hxd allowed me to see that), but the core.req file seems good.

SWBF2 Modding / [Solved] Can't munge death star

Hello guys, i tried to edit health of the little gate in the corridor, but when i munge death star, it gives me a 38ko file instead of 41ko, and then in game one cp is at another place and when i spawn i crash. Do you know why dea makes a failed munged file, while mus, kashyyk and other don't? Has the mod tools wrong assets or not all for this map? Thanks in advance!

Edit: Finally after having installed everything again, munging gives a workable dea.lvl.

Hi guys, do you know how i could edit the max time before a auto turret gets destroyed, to set it to like 5 mins? Because i couldn't find the turret's odf, maybe it doesn't exist? And this variable is hard coded in server exe? Thanks in advance!
PS: would it be possible to make a server side only, so that any player could enjoy that feature without having to install anything?

Hi guys, do u know if increasing fps rate or any other online/no online client options would allow me to decrease, or in the better case to stop the distance lag effect?
In my opinion, the only way is to force the host to send more packets to every client, but i don't know if clients themselves can force the host by changing their tps rate (more client -> server packets sent, to have in return more fresh updated positions of each player) ?
Anyway thanks in advance, this problem is really annoying with snipers on long range (Kamino by example :/)!

Hi guys, do u know if it would be possible to make unit classes unlockable against money and no more points like before, only by editing server files and not client ones? Thanks in advance!

Hey !
I have downloaded  BFII Mod Tools, and i have installed it near my BFII game folder, but now i've got a problem about the modification of the popup_vote.lua.
In brief, I shall wish to be able to modify certain files of SWBFII, thus I began with a quite small change which would allow me to see if I take myself there in a right way or at all. And this change, it is the length of the popup vote (displayable in multiplayer, on a server...). Thus by opening this file in Notepad ++ (he is in data/Common/scripts), and the variable in the line 9. I put a random number, as 900, but once the changed number, I do not know how to see the modification in game.

Hello, I come to ask for help you because I have at present a problem of connection to the SWBFSpy servers. I am ending my last preparations  in local mod of my future dedicated server, when I try on my dual boot PC Windows 10 and Ubuntu 15.10 to join my own server possessing the SWBFSpy patch (i made myself the hex modification of the .exe). But there is always this long delay before the map appears, followed by this error message: " connection to host lost ".
On the other hand, on Windows there is no problem whether it is on SWBFSpy or on Gameranger, but in Ubuntu 15.10, it all goes wrong. Only the application swbf2sm.exe works, the rest and all the connection part, it is not a success :/

Hey !
Now i'm finally able to do modifications of server manager files, i want to create a special gamemode on coruscant : jedi vs clones. So i'm recoding the conquestion clone vs csi of coruscant map, but there's a first problem appearing to me.



On this picture, you can see at left a clean mission.lvl and on the right part, this is my modification in the mission.lvl...If i test this mission.lvl during a game in solo, it works the riffleman diseappears and is no longer choosable. But if connecting players haven't the modified file if the server is the only one to have the "new" mission.lvl, it causes the crash of anyone connecting player...So my question is what modifications in mission.lvl are possible to do without creating crash for players who haven't got modifications ? So first, does my idea is realizable or everybody f this server must have "new" mission.lvl file ? I heard on my last help post, with the tutorial (https://www.gametracker.com/games/swbf2/forum.php?thread=86800), that is possible to mod only server, to have a different server than another. But at the end, we can read, with this method all of modifications can't be feasible, and the rest must be done with mods & maps...But it rejoins my initial question, how can i know what is realizable in server, or only with tools mod ? Certains server where i played last week have modifications, as example, on jabba's palace, hero of csi is a gammorrean. So i know it's possible but how ....

First good tuto, but when i trie to change the health of the gate on Death Star maps, i can't find the health in the .lvl
Here are some screenshoots which can help you to understand clearly my problem.
My .lvl in my simple hex editor:


And now my .odf file that i opened in my mod tools folder (because your mediafire download link is dead):


So my problem is that i don't know how to find the health value written in the .odf file, in the .lvl file. SO i can't change it to my new value.
I hope someone can help me =)
