They removed one of my comments on their facebook post about me asking them if the remember the old games.
Just comes to show that EA ARE the WORST games company to date. It's extremely annoying how they do that

Pile on the recent news of an EA rep bribing Reddit users to remove negative remarks about the game, you got the perfect reasons why I'm set on NOT buying the new Battlefront. If EA and DICE are trying to remove the negative criticism about their game, they just lost a few customers in my book.

Although I have plans to buy Need For Speed when it arrives on PC, at least Ghost is openly honest with their faults (such as outright saying the PC release won't be available until next year).

Figured there wasn't a whole lot of change with the gameplay. Good thing I'm not blowing money on it. At least with the newer NFS the requirements are lowered a bit (despite using Frostbite 3). Just saying, I'd probably get more kicks out of playing a game that resembles my childhood, than a moneygrab with the words "Star Wars" on it. :P

Ok, so nothing major would be possible? Like adding bots to game modes like Supremacy?
I have doubts that any modding at all will be possible. Considering how tight DICE keeps their games from cheats and mods , I'd be amazed if we somehow modded the game without getting the ToS involved.

Haven't gotten that either, though to be fair, I did upgrade to Windows 10, and it worked fine before that.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with SWBF and Steam on Windows 10?

Are you launching it from the steam library not the desktop shortcut?
Yes (I actually launch most if not all of my games through Steam nowadays).

Quick question. Using the SWBF1 GameMaster executable on Steam, the overlay doesn't seem to show up. Does this take a while, or does the fact it's using a modded executable have something to do with the overlay not working?

Personally all this talk about Windows 10 being evil reminds me of this old site I found buried deep in the Internet:

http://toastytech.com/evil/

It's about when Microsoft forced Internet Explorer down everyone's throat. This guy had the guts to make a full-on website about it, when nobody cared. :P

In regards to Windows 10 however, I agree with Phantom's sentiment. The fact Microsoft spying on us hasn't happened sooner is quite interesting, being the owner/creator of Windows and all. I myself updated, and have already had my friends saying to me "welcome to the botnet/borgnet". I can understand the effects of privacy and whatnot being ruined with Windows 10, but in any case, I just updated to it since I figured it best to have it while it's free. (I did not however account for the massive, 30GB download and simultaneous 20GB upload that would've incurred on my parents bandwidth from upgrading to Windows 10. Thankfully this is the last day, and our bandwidth limit gets renewed tomorrow, despite the fact we've gone over by 30%.)

Yeah, I did see that the ideas are similar. I'm not 100% sure if seamless space-to-ground can be done in SWBF1 though, but my idea isn't so much a remake of Battlefront III (not really possible in the SWBF1 engine) but a reimagining of it designed to fit to the restrictions of the first game's engine, and the story (minimal though it has to be) is retold to fit into the new continuity.

It's interesting that Free Radical believed nobody could replicate the seamless space-to-ground tech they came up with, when a 10-year-old engine clearly can do it, maybe even the first game's engine.
I'd think ground-to-space would work, however wouldn't the map have to have a massive skybox to hold the ships beyond/within maximum viewing distance of a player on the ground? Or is it more so the transition of the atmosphere from a sunny Tatooine to a dark, star-covered space that makes it difficult?

Naturally I would've thought making such a map would already be possible if you had a large skybox, however I'm guessing there's alot more work underlying this for SWBF1, no?

Didn't play the beta, read enough criticism about it, and I don't have the money for it. Although I did just now get a part-time job (starting training tomorrow at 8AM), I doubt I'll buy it until it goes cheaper. Plus, I have more practical expenses to worry for (i.e., Christmas gifts, new phone, etc.)

My current rig can run it Max Settings at 60 FPS:

PSU - EVGA NEX 750W
CPU - AMD FX6300 5.0 Black Edition
GPU - Sapphire Dual - X R9 270x
HDD - 1TB Seagate Barracuda (x2)
RAM - 8GB Ballistic
MOBO - Gigabyte 970A - UD3P
OS - Windows 10
Display - BenQ Monitor (1920 x 1080 x 60 Hertz)

The total was some where around £620.

That's the equivalent of $1250 CDN. Nowhere near affordable for some users here. Good to hear though the R9 270X has that capacity anyway.

The times like this where I wish the North American economy was as good as that. :P

Would this work?

I installed beta but it kept crashing.  Should I update to windows 10 or the GPU driver software?

My current rig has nearly those exact same specs (except screen size, Windows 10, and I have a higher-tier APU than you :P).

If you are looking for a laptop to run the beta, your best bet would probably be something costing a whole lot more than that. I'd start looking for laptops with $2,000 price tags and up ($1,500 at minimum). Then again, the newest ones with a desktop-grade GTX 980 are perhaps the most ambitious and most capable at running that smoothly. But even then, those laptops are only made by ASUS, and MSI at the moment, and not all that really practical in a sense, due to the monstrous cooling systems those machines house (take a look at the ROG GX700).

A good search or two on Google and something turned up:

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/08/heres-your-first-look-at-luke-skywalker-in-star-wars-the-force-awakens/

Says here he was in a 3D filming apparatus when the photo was taken. Either way, you'll get Luke, but I sense he will look like such as the link above details. ;)

Getting a PC this cheap isn't worth it lol might as well get a ps4 or save up untill you have over $700 so you can get a PC that can max out games.
Might be true, though I'd still have to pay a subscription to play online for a PS4 (I try to avoid subscriptions like the plague). At least for me it would be a half-decent starter build for myself (since I only have a laptop). :P

I'm assuming if I were to go with a 1600x900 720p resolution, the framerate would be increased? :D Just a thought is all. I don't think they still make 720p monitors with that resolution, but I would be curious about this.

Here is a list of parts for a new PC, I put together on PC Part Picker.  For a new computer of minimum standards, it costs about 600 dollars.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yhGCYJ
Even in Canadian currency, that's not a half-bad build I must admit. Just south of $700 it seems (priced at $678.16 CDN).

I'm guessing this build would pack a bit more beef than my laptop currently, which consists of an A10-5745M with Radeon HD 8610G graphics? :D
