Title: mapping difficult ???
Post by: Mr. Banthafodder on August 02, 2011, 01:23:44 AM
I actually just wanted to ask whether it is difficult to make a custom map
or to convert a map from swbf 2.

I can't create maps myself (mac) but if someone would
take some time (if it isn't too hard) for one of the custom maps i was thinking of
that would be great.

No it is not difficult to make a custom map or to convert a map from swbf2. The swbf2 objects that is and their locations on a map. I can see it possible. Have not tried it yet.

Soldiernumbervi, you can make maps with my notepad edit method. It takes time and math, that is all.

Where were you durring the hotel math phase I and few others went thru. (http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=3775.0)

And no, a (mac) does not limit you. You can create maps. You just need to embrace my notepad math imagination map building ideas.

You get asset for swbf2 map i try converting. You need to cut out some ODF and LUA functions, and individually test each mesh to see if it crash with no sptest log. There are many things that work and many things that don't, a lot of testing is required.

I will call upon you and anyone else willing to help. I will present a long list containing many objects like the one below. Many math changes will have to be made to the ChildPosition numbers. See that there are three numbers values? 111.111, 222.222 and 333.333, those will have to be altered mathematically to move the objects where we want them to be. It will be simple math changes to a long list.

Object("name of object model", "file name of model of object", 88692371000)
{
   ChildRotation(0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 0.000);
   ChildPosition(111.111, 222.222, 333.333);

Be ready. (http://www.marriedtothesea.com/092810/ready-in-a-second.gif)
