I wondered one day about this. But is it possible to change the values of teamkill and instead of subtracting a point from KP these add up to the players killed count? I would like to try it, it would be great to do All VS All units.

Hi, when I modify an .msh file and export it with the XSI Softimage Mod Tool, when I reopen it, the figures are moved in random places instead of appearing in the place where I placed it. Do you have any idea about what can cause this and how to fix? Thanks!

Hello again.

Let's say that this post is something special and goes on a somewhat complex question... And I need your help.

When I was doing the conversion of maps from SWBF2 to SWBF1 (specifically Coruscant: Jedi Temple) I still have problems with collisions. The truth is that you're right, SWBF2 collisions are somewhat different in SWBF1, and the resulting map was very glitchy (as one tester of my map said to me). But I realized there was a way to fix it using XSI Softimage and ZE Tools, so I installed these 2 tools.

And here's where the problem comes: I've become familiar with XSI Softimage and I know that to solve some collisions I have to change "p_-so-XXXYYY" to "collisionYYY". But my question is: Is there any way to check which geometry has collision or not? And is there any way to add the collision to geometry that which doesn't have?

For example, here's a screenshot of "Cor1_bldg_Minor_hall_05.msh" (exported) in XSI Softimage. The selected part is related to a part of the ground that has no collision (and that I couldn't fix). I've seen that each geometry has properties, but I have no idea if there is any property that is related to collisions.

Also, when I click on an element with the name "p_-so-XXXYYY" it seems that no geometry is selected on the screen (I don't understand why there is an H underneath and what means).

I understand that all of this requires some knowledge of modeling, but I don't think there is any way to fix / see the collision of every geometric element in an MSH file.

So, do you have any idea how you can do with this tool?

(I'm very close to getting it, so I won't give up!)

Hey all!

As you know, I'm working on converting maps from SWBF2 to SWBF1. At the moment I've been able to solve most collision problems, but there's still a problem...  :confused: (the following images say it all)

The problem is that the AI doesn't move around the map (it moves but is not able to pass a door, for example), and I don't know what it can be... It's the only problem I have and the map is almost 99% converted.

I would appreciate it if you can help me solve it! Also, if we can solve the problem I could send you my Coruscant: Jedi Temple conversion for testing!  ;)

Hello to all SWBFGamers,

Just a year ago (yes, exactly a 16th July) I discovered SWBFGamers. I thought it was incredible that there was a page devoted to a game I've been playing for years: "Star Wars: Battlefront".

The truth is that I never imagined that I would borrow a game that actually came to my house on Christmas 2007 and was a gift to my father. When I saw him play SWBF1 on my beloved PS2, I wanted to pick up the Analog Joystick that he held in his hands. It was a magical moment, really. The game not only loved me, but it was fun to move around the different maps, play the Conquest mode... From then on I didn't stop playing more times! I even played with my cousin to Split Screen mode and I had a great time too (sometimes we killed ourselves on the same side :P). Undoubtedly, this game and the PS2 marked a lot one of my best times of my childhood.

A few years passed and I got SWBF1 for PC, after the PS2 version stopped working (a shame). But that didn't prevent to continue enjoying the game in Singleplayer mode (because Gamespy had already stopped working). Until I discovered this community. :)

So well... for those who don't know me yet, my nickname is Red04 (CC-4398), I'm also known as DarthRedux04. I'm from Spain and now I'm 19, but with the same illusion of that child who played SWBF1 on PS2. ;) In addition, I apologize if I didn't introduce myself, I just joined because I wanted to participate in ICW6 and it was the first time I started playing multiplayer (quite late I have arrived lol :D). I must say that everything you've done to re-operate the multiplayer mode and to keep active a community of players like me who plays SWBF games is great. If it weren't for you, this game wouldn't go on with life. I also thank for the welcome that you have had the community with me.

I hope all this goes on for many more years. SWBF forever!!!  :cheers:

Hello! I need help with this.

I've been at least 1 month researching how to convert a SWBF2 map to SWBF1, and the fact is that I've finally made it with Coruscant: Jedi Temple (with my own method :P).

What I haven't achieved in the resulting map is to clear the collision of the terrain, which apparently looks dark. Here I leave some screenshots where I show you where the problem is...

The first image corresponds to my own conversion of the map and the second to a conversion of a downloaded map in SWBFGamers.

I also have a problem with showing the stars in the sky. I have entered this code in the cor1.sky file:

Stars()
{
NumStars(8000);
RandomSeed(1);
TwinkleFactor(0.5);
TwinkleFrequency(0.1);
Color(255, 255, 255, 255);
BrightStarPercent(70.0);
AlphaMin(15);
ColorSaturation(0.75);
}

And this happens:

If you can help me, I'll thank you!

Awards & End of the Tournament

Hey all,

The SWBFLeague tournament ended yesterday with the Free-Open Game Event and the results are now available with their respective winners.

You can check here: http://swbfleague.ucoz.es/index/awards/0-6

Although we only had 10 players and it was difficult to gather the most players, we had a great time. It's the first tournament I've organized and I must admit that there are still many things to improve, but I've been very excited to carry it out.

From the beginning I was surprised that no users of SWBFGamers have participated in SWBFLeague (you may not have liked it enough). Still, as soon as I wrote the first post I received good and bad reviews about the tournament, but I think some should have participated (even if it's playing a game) to better see the system.

To finish I want to thank Led for offering SWBFGamers as a place to manage the tournament, in addition to keeping my word when following this. I hope that in the future more editions can be carried out and more players participate.

Have a nice holidays!  :tu:

Free-Open Game Event

SWBFLeague opens the doors to ALL PLAYERS this 18th June to give place to the Free-Open Match!!!

This Sunday, to celebrate the end of the 1st edition, any player can join the last game of SWBFLeague. Only the following must be taken into account:

-The event will take place at the usual SWBFLeague time [2:00 PM (EST) / 8:00 PM (CET) / 10:00 PM (MSK)].
-The game will have the same rules for both the players involved as the invited players (to check the rules, visit the following link: http://swbfleague.ucoz.es/index/main_information/0-4).
-The password to join the game is: swbfl

In addition, this event will allow outside players the ability to see how the tournament works and ask questions related to it (I'll be there for it, of course  :D). You'll also be able to meet the winners and see a recording of this game on my new (hypothetical) YouTube channel. It will be the first video to upload!

And, of course, I encourage you to come. We'll have fun!  :cheers:

Hey all!

I need help with this. I have BFBuilder installed, and I decided to try out a map created by me using SPTest.exe. I have BFBuilder installed, and I decided to try out a map created by me using SPTest.exe. So I copied the file from the "\BFBuilder\Assets" folder and pasted it as the destination for "\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData". But when it's executed it crashes and stops working (the game doesn't start).  :confused:

Any idea or solution to be able to execute it? I need it to know if my AddOn map has any errors. If someone can help me I'll thank you.  :happy:

Last Friday, March 10, the registration period for SWBFLeague ended. The total number of participants is 12, the funny thing is that nobody from here wanted to participate, and that raised me if I should continue the tournament in SWBFGamers. Anyway, I invite you to follow closely the progress of the tournament to give you an idea of how it is...

Please be aware that if you haven't yet realized that I had created a sign-up topic in SWBFGamers expressly to make things easier, it's too late to do so. I'm sorry.  :smirksweat:

Hello! I've a problem.

As you know, I've started a new tournament called SWBFLeague. I was going to be the server administrator, so one day I tried a dedicated server for SWBFLeague with SWBF1 software. The first time I tried it I got 9999 ping on the server, and only I could join (the other players didn't). I realized I had to do portforwarding. After doing this, my server was at a very low ping.

But the real problem comes here. When another player joined my server his ping was a bit higher and he had lag all the time. I told this to a user I know and he told me that the only way to have a stable server was by buying one and creating a host of its own. But I preferred to create one for free, and so it was. I create a free host (domain) in No-IP and it works fine, but I run into another problem: If I have created a host, how do I use it? I mean how to use it to create the dedicated SWBF1 server inside this one.

I've also looked at this Led tutorial:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=8927.msg94961#msg94961

I also have another problem: after entering root in the Putty console asks me for a password. What password does the console refer to?

The main reason for this is that I want to create a stable server where everyone can connect without problems, just that ... And if it's possible, free.

Thanks!

Hello everyone!

Some will know that a few weeks ago I did a survey here in SWBFGamers about tournament schedules. The fact is that I was interested in carrying out one, and I promised that I would make it official. Well, here I present the tournament!!!

It's called SWBFLeague. It consists of an online tournament of a total of 30 games, 1-2 per week, where players must add points on a scoreboard. The main element of this tournament is that it values the score of each of the players instead of the teams (it's not a clan tournament). There will be a total of 7 awards, of which 3 are related to 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place in the ranking. In addition the tournament has its own website (here I leave the link):

http://swbfleague.ucoz.es/

In the website you'll find all the information related to the tournament, a forum where you can ask, create new topics, comment... (only users who are registered), a photo album where some screenshots will be published and a scoreboard that will be updated every weekend. The tournament hasn't started yet, but you can register now if you are interested in participating.

I think this tournament is a good idea to bring together players looking for another type of tournament that isn't related to the clan tournaments and have a greater role at the individual level as a player.

I encourage you to participate!!!  :cheers:

                                             ~AR Public Event #4~

The AR clan is going to organize its 4th public event on Sunday, 5th March 2017. The event will take place in SWBF1 within the clan's public server, except that this time the event is delayed at 1 hour of the usual time (at 1:00 PM (EST) / 7:00 PM (CET)).

Here's the original description of the event taken from our clan:
"I am proud to announce our new Event#4 on Sunday 5th march 2017. Almost everything will stay the same.

There is only a tiny difference:
We will start at 7pm CET not 8pm.

If enough players join us 1 hour earlier, we can keep it that way and enjoy one more hour of loads of players. Otherwise (if only a few show up at 7pm) we will reset the known time to 8pm for our next event.

So remember it's 7pm NOT 8pm."
And, of course, any player will be welcome!

See you on 5th March!!!  :cheers:

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this and I need help!!!

It happens that I've been watching this tutorial of SleepKiller (http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=4147) which explains step by step how to convert a map of SWBF2 to SWBF1. In my case, the map I have chosen for the conversion is "Coruscant: Jedi Temple".

So I downloaded the necessary map tools for the conversion. I started with Step 1 and at the moment everything was fine. Then I started to Step 2 and did everything explained to when he says that you have to open the ZeroEditor. So I opened the map cor1.wld with ZeroEditor.exe but suddenly it stops working.

I followed the steps strictly as explained SleepKiller and I don't know why not let me open the map to continue the procedures from Step 2.

If someone does the same thing has happened or knows that this error may be related, please let me know!!!

Regards.

Hi everyone!

I've created this post because I have a problem. Yesterday I downloaded the official LucasArts software to create dedicated SWBF 1 servers, because I was interested in trying to create one. When I give "start" from the Battlefront Server.exe, Battlefront.exe window appears, but the following message appears: "Battlefront.exe stopped working". I tried to do the same with compatibility mode set in Windows XP Service Pack 3 and even by running as an administrator, but I get the same error.

My computer has Windows 10 64-bit, although I have concluded that it may be some kind of compatibility issue.

If anyone knows whether it is possible fix, help me please!!!
Any contribution will be well received.

Regards.
