I just got a new computer. i installed SWBF, but when i go to join any servers, it freezes my comp and wont let me join. Ive had many people tell me my port is blocked. I just dont know which one. If anyone knows how to unblock it, please tell me as soon as you can.

How are you connected to the Internet? Wirelessly or through a wire?

if it's wirelessly, can you please tell me the manufacturer and model number of your wireless router?

if it's through a wired connection, are you using a router? if so, model and manufacturer of that as well.

If not, and there isn't really any way you can't be using a router of some sort, then it should already be open.

Strangely I've been having the same problem. I solved it, at least temporarily, by changing my network settings. New IPs, did the trick. But I couldn't tell you what was wrong with the old ones. I could still get online, just not able to enter games hosted by other people. wierd.

Any chance you're running Antivirus software? Check it's rules list and add an exception for battlefront on 3658 if it isn't there

Viruses are like the New York Lottery. "Hey, you never know"

he might have solved this. xfire shows he is able to play swbf1.
jammy19, is this the rig for the new computer you talk about here?

If you are using a mac, "Mac Pilot" will open ports. It has a 15 day trial period. Otherwise it costs $19.95.
Unfortunately, I have the same problem and my trial period has expired. argg.

... you can also use the "Terminal" to open ports. But I don't know the command lines needed. .. looking online myself. if I find the answer I'll post it.

No junior moderating either. That's actually acceptable.

Back on topic, please.
