SWBF1 Modding / Map ideas release

This is some maps me and a group of people had come up with for a 1.4 patch we were at one point working on for SWBF1, being that we are not making the 1.4 patch i figure i might aswell get the map ideas out their for someone to use. anyway here they are.

New Map 1 - The Executor
The Executor Rooms:

Level 1
Cafeteria

Level 2
Meditation Chamber
Medical Station
Barracks
Cell Block L2

Level 3
Bridge
Launch/Docking Bay

Map Notes: I'm thinking for this map we need a center spiral stair case, and  have the rooms based around the stairs, The Map would be set for 10 to 30 Players.

I did collect images for this map however they were just based off images from the Executor from the movie, so  concept art would not be hard to find.

Map 2 - The Maze
This map was to be based off of the original "Maze" by TPR




roof was a glass floor, we intended to make it breakable so players under them (or above) could blast out the glass and make the player fall.

Map 3 - Rebel Flurry: over Endor

Rebel Flurry is a transport hanger ship for the rebel alliance.

The layout was as shown above, pretty much just battling it out, one side would have a Empire landing party, and the other the Rebel troops duking it out between the ships and docking bay clutter.

Thats all i've got for now, we had other maps in store but these are the only ones that had any reasonable amount done.

Hope these can be put to good use, and feel free to use them or ask anything about them, while i'm not working on the 1.4 patch anymore i would love to see these maps made.

So i play SWBF SP, a good bit nowadays and try to play out the levels in a very story oriented way but something i've always complained about is that the battlefields we are given, don't really look like battlefields. only 3 maps have ANY type of battlements such as sandbags, or trenches ect.

Even the turrets look permanent in this game, NONE of it looks like it was put their FOR battle from the troops, Hoth and Kashyyk are the only ones that come close and even those don't really look that wartorn what happened to the turrets that the Empire carried around in the movie and shot at the Falcon as they escaped? these are suppose to be battlefields, not pretend places you would like to fight! and i mean i understand that some of the maps have things like this, Geno with the outer portable CP by the clones, and Yavin with the defensive turrets like in the movie ect. but really, would it be that hard to put some sandbags infront of those doors in the CC hallway to give some cover when shooting across? or some futuristic blast shields if you want, whatever just something atleast! these are suppose to be basic troops atleast the clones/empire should have stuff like that!

oh well....end rant :P

Requests / Naboo Theed Assets

Hey, so i've slowly been working on a Naboo Theed remake- as its the only map i could never actually run on Max settings and while its an ok map, i never really enjoyed it, so i'm planing a new one, and was wondering if someone could give me the models in a none SWBF format so i could edit them to fit my needs, thanks!

if your willing post and ill list what models i'd like, wanting to make this a much more interactive  map so little cracks for shooting throught and such in the models, perhaps a view of naboo after the CW's in the GCW era.

SWBF1 Modding / Single Player Campaign for SWBF1

So, i was playing the SP yesterday being my weird self trying to beat everything on hard without deaths, and i noticed something, considering that all the SP is- is just a Mission map, with a fancy start screen and voice over:



A possible way to make a SP campaign would be to release a pack of mission maps (Each level), and along side link people in the read me to a youtube video giving them the mission objectives.

While this isn't ideal considering unless you could recreated data from the core files of the game, their is no other way to make a SP mission; Plus this IMO could be done very well and even release a new "story" every week/month or however often.

This is going to be a little guide to do everything you can do on these here forums and a few select other things such as some games and so forth, it will be a work in progress for a while as I'm sure Ill forget something, if anyone wants to contribute their own tutorial to this post just Pm Me and ill make sure it gets added in.
If you have any questions feel free to ask in a PM (Personal Message) to Me or any of the other staff and I'm sure you'll get your answer as soon as I or They can give it.
To start off ill go over the Basic's of any forum, from posting in topics to making new topics, even editing your profile/signature, then ill go over bbcode and anything else i can think of.

How to View the Forum Rules

This is the most simple and most important thing to do if you want to enjoy your time viewing and becoming a part of the MPCGamers.com community.

The simple answer is look in the "News" forum, and look for the sticky'd topic "Forum Rules"- And the other simple way is to Click this Link.

How to Post


To do this, go into any topic (thats not locked) and you will see the following buttons at the top right (Reply) and bottom right (Reply) as shown below.



Once you click on Reply, you will be taken to a page with a text box and with rows of BBcode options and emote icons you can use in your post. Once you have put in what text you would like, and used any BBcodes/emotes you would like, you simply hit Post an option thats right below the text box and your done. Note: You may also hit Preview at any time to have a preview pop up above your text box with what your post will look like.

Another option you have for posting is (Quick Reply) you can write a post when viewing a topic without loading a new page. This however is not on by default, to turn this on click the (Profile) option in the menu bar, it will take you to your profile and you will see the options to Modify Profile choose the option "Look and Layout" under Modify Profile. Now choose the option in the drop down menu and set it as you prefer- this is how i have mine set.



Now, once you have it turned on, you can post without loading a new page its as easy as that. the Quick Reply box will be at the very bottom of any topic you can post in. and will look like this.



So, now that you know how to post choose your method and get posting!

How to Post a New Topic

This is almost exactly the same as how you add a New Post/Reply.

But this time you click in any forum on (New Topic) it will be on the top right above all of the topics made by other members.



Once your in the page simply enter your post and hit (Post).

How to Add Your Signature and Avatar

Signature
To add your signature there are a few basic steps:
Firstly go to the menu bar at the top of the forum, and click on the ìProfileî button.



Then, click on the ìForum Profile Informationî text in the sidebar.



Next, scroll down the page until you come to a box that looks like this:



Then to add your signature, enter the text or image that you wish to be displayed, for example mine:



Which will be displayed like this:

Avatars

Adding your avatar is even simpler than adding a signature!

Firstly go to the menu bar at the top of the forum, and click on the ìProfileî button.



Then, click on the ìForum Profile Informationî text in the sidebar.



Then look for this section on the page that will now load:



You now have two options:

1. If the picture is on the internet, get hold of the address to the picture, e.g.
http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6299/22146258.jpg
and then copy and paste it in the appropriate box.

                    or

2.If the picture is on your computer, click the Choose File button. Then go and find where the file is on your computer and click ok, and the image will be uploaded.

And the final step of course for both, is click "Save Changes" at the bottom!

SWBF1 Modding / The impossible made possible

So, i hear things talked about in modding all the time, i've not done much along the lines of modding, atleast nothing that ever got completed but none the less to the point.

It annoys me to no end when someone says something isn't possible so i work around and try to figure out i've done this in the past with Auto Turrets for SWBF1 - while it hasn't been tested much BD did get a working auto turret from my basic idea. Essentially what i figured is that if you just make the unit a turret model, give it the turret weapon, remove mobility put it on the 3rd team and you have it.

This ofcorse isn't the best but it is Auto turrets as most people have wanted in SWBF1 for a while.

the basic concept goes for other things in SWBF2 that are "not" possible in SWBF1 such as the guided missile (See below) and so forth, so basically this topic is purely to discuss ways to make things that are thought to be impossible, possible.



Guided Missile is the one i'm currently trying to figure out.

So far i've got it to the point of understanding that taking the Recon Droid making it always moving if possible? giving it up and down control, and inverting the controls aswell, making its velocity much faster and just have it explode on contact with anything (1 hp/crashing into anything damages it) also the health drain could work as a distance limit so it blows up if its to far.

So thats the overall ideas tossed together, any thoughts on ways to improve on this idea? anyone willing to try it? As i sadly have never gotten far into these ideas because i can not actually test as i'm running a Mac.

SWBF1 Modding / [WIP] Hunting Grounds

Ok, so well i play alot of co-op, SP and many MP games but what i enjoy the most is a good co-op with a few people and alot of huge explosions and yelling.

Sadly, my main games just don't have the ability to give me this.... Cod4 has nothing of the sort, SWBF has nothing of the sort and most of the others have nothing like it... so i'm making a mod to please this side of me, its not a huge mod just some unit edits in a strange way and some map editing (Will need someone to help with the mapping/munging side)

Basically i want to make a hunting grounds, fill it with targets and start blasting away with my favorite weapons I was considering borrowing BD's SnD map and putting non destroy/cappable CPs in their stead. have the bots just run around and be bantha fodder!

The Hunters i will give ether a huge laser that takes a long time to reload, or a big missile, one det grenade and they'll blend into the map via skin/model edits.

The Hunted will be a surprise for everyone other then the mapper and myself :)

So, Huge explosions...check, Big guns......check, awesome mod overall.....TBD.

So people always say they don't like the special troopers, them being over or under powered, so i'm asking what would you give the units? You can use any weapon in the SW universe for them so let's see some awesome unit set ups!

A one day fight to see who is the overall champ of SWBF units.

Alright, so the objective of this tournament is purely to see who can fight best with each unit and combine the scores to see who is the overall best.- people will get some special points in this tournament but i will post the scoring tomorrow. The tournament will be played in 5 maps, for the 5 units, each map everyone that plays uses the troop for that map, listing in the line of Rifle troopers, Heavy troopers, Pilots, Snipers, and Special (GCW only for balance).

Naboo: Airfield (nabair1) - Rifle Trooper - This is pending if BD chooses to release the final version before this tournament.
Death Star: Interior (dea1) - Rocket Trooper
Tatooine: Jabba (tat3) - Pilot Trooper
Maze (maz1)  - Sniper Trooper
Taking suggestions for Special Trooper map- GCW ONLY.

Ill update tomorrow with a for sure map list and arrangements for a host please post if you are willing to host. (the maps will be based on the best map for that unit)


So thoughts on this insane idea? i'm looking for a 30 player epic rifle trooper battle :)

I'm not one much for Halo 3 i love the series i just think they could have done better with it sooner, but never the less i do love a good thrashing and completely insane happenings in games so enjoy!

This is some stuff by battlebelk first is a color changing jet trooper and second one is wireframe AT-AT walkers and Jet trooper

I'm wondering if people would be interested in having a weekly Night, we all get together and play games- firstly this would mean we need a good many DC host as i don't want to leave anyone out, i already do this for another game on saturday nights and it works out pretty good, we have a core set of people who are there every sat, and then people come in from time to time for old times sake.

anyway just wondering if anyone else could do this, as i know it would get me playing more often.
