Localization Changer v 1.0

http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1487

This program can be used to change the localization language of your core.lvl file.  The choices are English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and UK English.
What does this mean?  Since the Steam/GOG versions only released in English, people cannot play in their preferred languages.  What this program does is asks you to select a language, then hit change.  Find your core.lvl (if your Steam/GOG is in a standard folder, then it will start in a standard folder, otherwise just the C:\ drive), and then select it.  The program will come up with a Success if it runs correctly and then close.

Please note:
This will not work correctly if your core.lvl has been modified.  There are not a large number of checks, so if you are using a custom team chat mod, you do NOT want to use this.  Your core.lvl will not load.  It uses static offsets from the stock core.lvl (which is the same on physical and Steam versions).
All the localizations in the core.lvl are accessible here.  There are no other languages contained within.
This does NOT change or modify sounds. I believe the English sounds are the only ones included with the English version.
Images in English (Copyright screen, Victory/Defeat, etc) will still be in English.
UK English is included, however, there is some localization missing.  This is not a problem with this program.  I did not notice localization missing from the other languages, however, what you see is what you get.
A typical folder structure is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront (Classic 2004)\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC\" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Star Wars - Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC\".  If you do not have your program set up this way or are using the physical disk, you still need to get to GameData\Data\_LVL_PC

I have included a stock core.lvl file intended to be used as a backup in case warnings were not heeded.  This was tested by myself on the Steam version.

Forum News and Forum Rules / Re: Server List
May 06, 2019, 04:50:38 AM
The base of the "more details" portion of the website is GameQ - an open sourced server query tool for php.  I can manually change values but what you see is mostly what is dumped.  I'll try to clean it up some.

I have not been concerned with the actual player list because the query tools a lot of times do not grab all the players.  The numbers in the server list are the most accurate because I pull them straight from the master list.  I intended to make it so that the playerlist only showed up if the server was selected, but I hadn't gotten there yet.  Another issue that happens with that list is that there is no placeholder if a server can't be queried.  It just bumps the next server up causing weird mismatching server issues.

As you can see, I didn't put as much time into this website as probably was appropriate.  When it was built, there was a desire for a separate master list and some other details, and that was it.  I formatted the top of the page to fit into a box and went from there - Placement of the widget is just an iframe box in the News block right now.

I have a testing machine that I work with to implement new features, but I haven't touched it for a while.  Thanks for your suggestions and I'm hoping I can get some of them working soon.

Edit: Added SWBF2 since that was a pretty easy request.  Already had it done on my backup.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: SWBF1 FOV Mod
May 06, 2019, 04:38:51 AM
There are separated lvl builders floating around here if you have specific needs.  You can use it to recompile each side lvl easily.
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=553

There are also mission.lvl builders and shell and common builders.

If you can't get BFBuilder to work, what type of errors are you getting?  If you downloaded the original tools, there are some fixes that need applied that we have here.  There is an update to BFBuilder coming soon, but for now there are many fixes needed that get it in working condition.

If you need any help, let us know.  I don't know of any off the top of my head but it shouldn't be too bad to change.
A second thought would be if you could make a program to edit the compiled value, that'd be awesome, but I'd start with the side editors first - that's where FOV is contained.
Edit; someone on steam did do an FOV mod but i didn't look at it.

I think he didn't set it correctly as a Guide, but I'm not familiar with Steam's system.
Hey look, I triggered him by helping people.  Hopefully there's some action taken soon because he has started with the personal attacks again.
Edit: Thanks for your support Gistech

Honestly Apple should have found a way to leave the Rosetta compatibility layer in there or download a portable version, then they could just release the original.
At this point, Aspyr would have to "re-port" it :(

I guess they decided against the Mac port, how irritating.
I don't think they are privy enough to source code there to get it out of the PowerPC code base.

Check my most recent video to see what you are missing out on in Battlefront 1.
At one point we were sitting at almost 30 players ingame.  It was insane.

Sorry, I must have messed something up.  Apparently that is SWBF2.

Read the directions here and then download if needed.  I don't know if it works with windowed mode but I can try it in a little bit.

Assuming this is the download you have: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1219  Not sure where the individual file is at the moment.

Included in that download is a compilation of fixes.  This one is a .reg file - it's called BestOfPC registry fix but it should work in this situation.  Run, hit continue at the admin prompt, and then try it. It just adds the registry key that gets checked to see if you have the game installed, does not actually do anything else.

I think when using /win you can set the resolution (default 640x480 maybe?)  Try to set it like this:  battlefront.exe /win /resolution 1024 768

edited due to the fact you need resolution
This may also help: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=10816.msg107141#msg107141

Well, on the other side of the coin, he doesn't have 15 people in one server right now like we do.  Today is a good day.

Please make sure you use AnthonyBF2s guide. There is a certain abusive former member who is passing off his walled garden as the only way to play and flat out copied his tutorial.
