Forum News and Forum Rules / New Themes Available
April 16, 2012, 05:13:07 PM
I have installed some new themes.  Some work better than others.

To set one, please go to:

Profile
Modify Profile then Look and Layout on the dropdown menu
at the top of that section find the line that says Current Theme and click on Change

Click on Use This Theme

Notes about Fire theme:
Not all the buttons are there.

click on this link for forums:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=forum

click on this link for downloads:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads

(or click on a recent post and then find the folder structure)

--------------------------------------

The Black Ibiz seems to work fine.
GreyStyle seems to look good and work fine too.

Let me know what you think or if there need to be changes.

Thanks!

ok, let's start with your original list and take them one at a time.

First, get this:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=525
you will need to get this in order to extract it:
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

it is a big download but it has most if not all of the stuff you need.

Let's start with unlimited height.

It is a mission.lvl mod.

Go into the mission builder and into this folder:
SWBF1 Modding LVL Builders Toolbox V4b\Mission.lvl Builder\scripts\BES

open bes2r.lua with a text editor  (bes2r is the clone era of cloud city)

Find this line:
SetMaxFlyHeight(-10);

change it to:
SetMaxFlyHeight(100);

save the file.

Click on the munge.bat file located here:
SWBF1 Modding LVL Builders Toolbox V4b\Mission.lvl Builder

get the mission.lvl file that is newly created here:
SWBF1 Modding LVL Builders Toolbox V4b\Mission.lvl Builder\_lvl_pc

copy it into your game folder (mine is here):
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC

start your game, do CW era of Cloud City and test it.

When that works, I will take you through the next step.

Public Square / Re: Dark background

OK, JediKiller helped me set the default text to Black.

Let me know how it looks.

We still have the option of a new theme, and we also have the option for multiple themes that can be selected by the user.

Sereja, if you pick out a theme that you like, let me know and I can install it and then you can select it.

I think it was MileHighGuy that made stackable boxes that could be pushed around (dispensed).

yes, it can be done.

I would encourage you to learn how to do it.

They act this way when you use a dispenser, too.

It is like they have no soul :)

I wonder if there could be some memory pool adjustment set to allow them to come to life...

or some command to add them to the team like if they had spawned as AI.  Maybe there is a way to hook into that memory location.

Has anyone ever tried dispensing a portable CP ?

We are happy to help.  And we are happy to help others learn  ;)

In that post is a list of server side moddable items, and what file that those mods can go into.

If you want to learn how to mod (it's really not that bad) I suggest that you start with this tutorial:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=8.0

Some of those things are in common.lvl, some are in the various side.lvl file.

If you can edit a text file and click on a batch file, you can mod.

How long would it take to make a new model?

Probably a couple of days if you have the software--which hasn't been sold for the last 6 or so years, and cost a few thousand dollars back then...

I you need any particular stock map, please feel free to contact me.

I'm not sure yet about uploading everything.  That may be more than we can do given the software agreement.

We will look into it.
