Hey guys!
I joined here because Lord Majesty invited me to. Now I forgot, since more than a year have passed, back when I was a part of their clan, to add PFA to my username. I already have points, since I played for the past several days. I tried hex editing profile file and changing username at the beginning of it, but there must be a checksum stored somewhere withing this profile and checked during profile loading as the game says the load has failed. I was wondering if anyone already made a profile editor I could use to change username?
Check the downloads and u'll find a lot of "interesting" or helpful stuff. Here's the ingame nickchanger: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=353
The checksum is indeed calculated from the profile data. If you want to have the nick changed you can use SWBF game informer (http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=9289.0), in which you can clone existing native profile with new username.
Thanks guys, I knew someone already made it!
Hey Anyder, is that affecting online stats of the profile? I need a permanent change. I think that's what I need. I think if I don't permanently change into ~PFA~ Lord Satan, then Lord Majesty will be pissed.

The nick changer i posted only requires u to run the program and set a name. After that just run it anytime u wanna play swbf1 and it will display the name in the nick changer
Yeah but what will be displayed on the online list of players?

If u mean in the server yes. There is not SWBF1 Online leaderboards like in Battlefield 4 (for example), if that is what u mean.
My current profile name is Lord Satan, that's who I am right now, but I need it to be changed into ~PFA~ Lord Satan permanently. Will it appear here as such: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/216.52.148.181:3658/top_players/
It currently appears as Lord Satan, without ~PFA~

If u run the program i told u, Yes!
http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/216.52.143.105:3658/top_players/ - Here I am with my FC and InViS tag
Ok, so let me just confirm with you that I only need to run in once and it will permanently change my profile from Lord Satan into ~PFA~ Lord Satan and will keep my current stats and points?
Yes! U got it!
But u have to run it everytime u play SWBF
No, nothing changed or happened. It didn't change from Lord Satan to ~PFA~ Lord Satan, even though it is specified in the nick as such. I'm using 1.2 version.
We all are using 1.2 lol
Make sure firewall isnt blocking it
It works under admin, Majesty suggested it to me. I didn't know.
But I don't appear here anymore: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/216.52.148.181:3659/top_players/?query=pfa
Gametracker doeant update that automatically. As far as i know it takes 1 hour for that list to be updated or half an hour. So be patient.
But the stats will be the same, right? I won't lose all the minutes of gameplay and score?

If u had previous ones yes, u'll lose the stats
This is what I originally asked you: "Hey Anyder, is that affecting online stats of the profile? I need a permanent change. I think that's what I need. I think if I don't permanently change into ~PFA~ Lord Satan, then Lord Majesty will be pissed."
The whole point of nick changer would be to retain the online stats, otherwise the effect is exactly the same as if I created a new profile in the game, just that I wouldn't have to run nick changer every time.
Well i guess it is logic and obvious, if u change ur name with a new profile or with the nickchanger u'll reset ur stats.
Isn't the whole point of nick changer to change just nick and retain the stats? I'm not going to start nick changer every time before I start the game, what's the point. I'll just create a new profile called ~PFA~ Lord Satan, because it removes the need to start nick changer. Nick changer - useless.

- the point of nick changer is not to retain stats with gametracker, it was developed so you can use any name in the servers without having to create a new profile. the stats are based on the name displayed in servers only, and they are not near as accurate anyway like the old LucasArts ones used to be (its designed for BF2 remember).
- you can easily create a batch file launcher for the game which will launch the nick changer then the game itself at once.
- nick changer is not useless unless you only plan to use 1 nickname for your entire gaming. battlebelk created this and many other great tools like the custom res launcher to give players more options for their game, i think he would find your comment disrespectful. the profile name has a limit of less characters than nick changer does, and doesn't allow certain special characters.
It's useful only to have bigger names, but for me to type each time I want some other name used as opposed to just clicking the profile name in the game, is tedious. I understand that some people have dozens of usernames, but they have to change each time they use it with nick changer, I don't have to.

It will keep the same name used from last time, you only have to type a new one when you change it. I dont have to type them either, i have a list of all nicknames used in the same folder as nick changer, i can just copy/paste each name this way. and ill know the profile control settings are exactly the same every time. but if you prefer a shorter name without special characters, you dont need to use nick changer at all. Most players here find it useful however.
Besides u can keep all names u use in the ini file, like i do...
I don't want to copy/paste anything, just click, and I don't change control settings, why would I do that. I think special characters are working in the game without changer. I use only one '~'.

U might not change the settings, but I do, so creating new profiles is a "waste" of time, that'd why for me the nickchanger is quite useful.
No they dont, most of these characters dont work - =|·FÇ·|=ÂѥУ® -={ÎñV¡§}=- , and also in the normal profile i wouldnt be able to set as name [FC]Anyder -={InViS}=-
I was referring to fancy special characters like these -={ÎñV¡§}=-
you can't make a profile with those
you can also have a folder for each nick with its own nick changer so that you just 'click' it once
anyway, if youre not using the custom res launcher or a modified shortcut, you have to wait through startup animations and videos, which takes more time than the copy/pasting would.
Wait a minute. I can play the game in widescreen res?

follow these instructions and play at your native monitor resolution for best results

Still in-game there are only 2 default possibilities, not the one I set in the ini file.

leave the one in-game at 800x600, then whatever you set in the INI file will override it, but it wont show that in the shell menu. it applies the custom resolution when a round starts.
lol, I saw the menu is not widescreen so I thought it didn't work. Thanks! Although meshes seem to me a bit wider than normal.
