Right. I understand that there's some serious contention going on. Still, everyone has a right to defend themselves and state their point of view, at least that's what I try to uphold. But considering that he blocked me, it might be difficult to start a conversation.

QuoteThat was Phobos on your Youtube video by the way.  It happens pretty regularly.

No! I'm shocked! And here I thought it was the other person who was vitriolically critical of my basic recommendations list! Lol! /s

I appreciate your post and will look over it more thoroughly at a later date. Still, I'd appreciate hearing Phobos' side and give him a fair chance to discuss what happened and learn his views and how he thinks we should interpret these pictures.

I'm sure most of you turned pale at the notion, but I guess I care a lot about fair representation and will hear anyone defend themselves.

By the way, someone going by IncogniTroll JealousFailedPoser posted on my YouTube account about the Top BF1 mods list I made (whether this is the one from months ago or the updated one from days prior I posted on Reddit is unclear) and said something about how I copied him and am unqualified to make a mods list. Apparently being banned from his site is insufficient and I need to be reminded about my impropriety and ineptitude.  ::) Oh well, it's harmless criticism.

By the way, Phobos, I finally tried your Walking Dead mod. I was hesitant to do so before because I wanted to only add finished mods to the list, but now I think it's worth including. Even though you said it's about another 5 years to completion, there's already a lot of impressive changes made to the base game and some neat additions like dogs. I'm curious about how you will improve it in the years to come.

Requests / Re: Clone Dismemberment Mod?

Oh, that's great to hear! But I want to be sure that I have the right maps. Unfortunately, looking at your section in the downloads page, the closest I could find are:

1. Execution at Geonosis

2. cor1_JediTemple.zip

I'm skeptical about these being the correct ones. Could you specify which ones have these touted features? Here is the page:

Requests / Clone Dismemberment Mod?
May 02, 2019, 07:53:44 PM
I was informed that such a mod is available and, out of morbid curiosity, I'm hoping to learn more about it. Does anyone know the name of such a mod?

I'm just going to pray that this Steam release was premature and that it was meant to coincide with the GoG release--which is when the GoG online service would start.
#36
Remember when GoG got the SW licence and released about a dozen games that year? Then subsequently released just one title annually after that? Man, it seemed like Battlefront would take forever to come out!

So please, let this year be the one! For Battlefront's 15th anniversary!

Wait, so the Light Assault Speeder is a custom vehicle and not one that the devs originally introduced?

Well, I'm no modder, just a (casual) historian. I cannot assist but, if you make any progress on this or learn some secrets, then please let me know.

He did another one for Naboo Plains. Plus he's still working on, like you said, Theed. I think that's all he has.

Lonely Dragon released a PS2 mod for BF2 that aims to recreate this map:

What do you think? Does it look faithful?

Thank you. I went to Gametoast and found references to a conversation between Teancum and some devs. While it would be cool to have direct quotes from the devs, Teancum's statements should be sufficient. Apparently, the code for crouching was accidentally overwritten while working on the Jedi, and they simply lacked the time to fix it.
#42
Oh well.

By the way, since I'm writing a history about Battlefront 2's development, I'm really curious about where you possibly learned about the issues with going prone. Do you have any idea what the source was?

I discovered the Battlefront Project mod by Syth. It strikes me as a very under-appreciate era and map pack, since it has some ambitious units, cool variety of vehicles, a fantastic roster of heroes (Padme and Anakin look derpy, though), and even features the ability to destroy Trade Federation Core Ships (which is an admirable attempt, though the experience feels flat).

However, most unique among its features seems to be the ability for basic units to go prone. It looks a teeny bit glitchy, but it works! It would be perfect to introduce into the Conversion Pack! [I know, there's modder etiquette and reservations about adjusting works like this, but the point still stands that this is something that the pack should have had since the beginning]

Is there a reason for why this feature is so infrequently implemented? I would like to see it in other mods!

General / Re: Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Context: I really hate TFA (this is partly coming from feeling salty about JJ's Star Trek reboots, though I can't help but cringe and roll my eyes at so many lines) but I absolutely LOVE the follow-up, TLJ.

So, because JJ is heading this one, I have very low expectations.

I recently had this notion that there are a ridiculous number of named characters in Star Wars, both in canon and legends, and there's very few mods that seem to present more than several of these people at a time. And, with the list of available character models increasing, such as with Teancum's recent Jedi Academy conversions, this game is in increasing need of a mod or series of mods that can put all of them together. It could be epic. Imagine all of the heroes and villains you could ever want to fight as or against in one package.

I doubt it's practical to fit over a hundred different characters into a single Hero Assault map, but maybe there could be different 'era' mods to split them apart? Maybe a "Game EU" era featuring characters from Dark Forces, Jedi Academy, and so on, and similar ones for the books, television series, and different eras like the Old Republic?

Could it be possible to use a custom menu or fake console to generate individualized armies?
