Agreed and I would add that, yet another, really important feature they missed is letting players join mid game. Even if it forced them to be a spectator until the next round.
Edit: If you want nightmares just imagine an icw tournament with the current system. ;)

Realist statement I've seen on this site. I was getting excited for that but I guess since the Private Match system is absolute garbage, that wont be happening anytime soon.
I think it's a step in the right direction, but could use some work. The following improvements should be made IMO:
- Reduce minimum player count to 1-2 OR allow players to set the minimum.
- Add ability to add AI, at least to fill up spots not taken by players.
- Add ability to make custom map/mode rotations.
- Allow players to join mid-game.
- Add ability to make public servers as well (eg. server browser).
- Add offline/LAN support.
