Can someone explain exactly what does Elite Training actually do?

I play on hard mode basically all the time, and I don't really notice my troops getting any more accurate than usual when I use Elite Training in GC.

Can any modders that know a lot of the internal aspects of the game tell me exactly what happens with Elite Training? Does it ramp up the players team AI to medium mode or something? It still doesn't feel that way considering one enemy can take out 5 - 7 allied troops easily on hard mode still.

Thanks so much for the help any pc modders that saw this, knew the answer yet decided not to respond.

Bluetothestars, you can behave better than this.  Consider this an informal warning.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

In GC mode, Elite Training means your units receive advanced training and become more accurate. In part you are right at this point: they should target and shot more precisely during the battle. But maybe you don't notice that when playing in Hard difficulty.

Try Easy or Medium difficulty, maybe you can appreciate that difference more than once.

Surely there's something in the files that shows to what extent the affect kicks in?

For example, when editing map files, the difficulty modes have different settings, with hard having the COM on 2 and the players team on 0.

sorry Led  :'(

It's hard coded in the executable, not in any of the files that we can see.
So no, we don't have a way of quantifying what Elite Training does.

This is all I wanted to hear! Someone did know! Please understand that all it takes is to say something like this, this forum is basically dead, and people don't ask for much.

Most of the times we don't know stuff because we don't own the source code of the game, so at least to me, I find it useless to "spend" time replying just to say we can't know. If you dedicated more time to research, this would be something you'd have figured out on your own.

Also I recommend you being more polite to the forum/community. Thread's locked as of now.
