Oh well, really didn't know there exist voiceovers in French! Maybe you should have a look to the files inside the original PS2 disc to get a clue and then searching a way of extracting these sound files. Here are tools like SWBFUnmunge which had been use to extract LVL files, but I don't recall if it would work for sound-related ones.

Make sure you open the map in ZeroEditor and save it. If you munge it directly it won't take effect (at least that's how it worked well for me when editing the maps).

I randomly saw some very interesting information in an IGN YouTube video. The Aspyr developers seem to have used 3D models from an iamshaymin mod (Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress) but with certain modifications to work in CC (exclusively in PC version). If iamshaymin himself has confirmed this, it is evident that Aspyr would have used mod source files but probably without giving credits.

Here's the video in case you're interested in (around 2:52):

Quote from: Bearzerg on March 16, 2024, 08:34:38 AMHi,

So with the release of battlefront on switch, I saw that, like the steam release, the game only includes English language.
I'm kinda nostalgic of the french voices i had on ps2 and i used my CD files of bf2 to mod my switch game and now i have working french voices for bf2.
The thing is, i can't for the life of me find the french audio files online for bf1, and i even tried the Ps2 and Xbox files, none of them seems to work. I even searched archive.org, but i only found English and Hispanic versions of the game.

I'm out of options there, if anyone appears to have those files, on an old CD lying there, I'd be very thankful.

Anyway, thanks for your help

Not sure for BF2, but at least in SWBF1 Spanish the voiceovers are in English by default.

During a stream today I saw that there is only one server available on SWBF1 multiplayer.

It's another missed opportunity... Both SWBF deserve to be re-released as the great games they were and still are!

The most disappointing of this collection it is the fact it smells like a "easy money grab release" for those people who didn't have the chance to own original copies (such as Switch owners). The only that justifies LUA upgrade maybe are due to its capabilities, but yeah... they messed up the games a bit.

I played the previous Europa maps, I will play the new ones as well. Nice work! :)

Looks good visually, but I don't think I'm a fan of the new HUD font, especially in SWBF1. The original one is iconic!

Oh okay then.

Did you find the way to modify the names? Not long ago I was interested in doing something similar to you (using the stock Mace Windu as a playable unit, and then showing his respective tag).

Quote from: vonfrank on March 03, 2024, 08:39:35 PMThat's fair. I'll have to look into editing Core.lvl.

On a similar topic, I was testing the hero modification in multipalyer with a friend (I sent him my SIDE folder and mission.lvl, so we have identical installs). Despite the fact that these new heroes work perfectly in Singleplayer, they crash his client in Multiplayer, and sometimes my client too.

Is there something else I need to modify to get this to work in MP?

It should work correctly as long as you have the same files. By the way, are you using PC Dedicated software or you run the server directly ingame?

I'm not sure if it's possible for a single unit, but I guess you'll have to look for its related localization key. IIRC there was a file/post with all localizations.

The random clone tags appear because these are set up by default for all the playable units in the side you're putting them (except for the hero ones, which I suppose these have a single localization key for each side).

I recommend using the Core LVL builder for the stock files so you can modify the desired localization key.

Quote from: jonjonshell21 on February 26, 2024, 03:11:07 AMWell that what I was thinking because sometime a lot of people or modders want to keep modding the game which I do understand but I am more concern of game files for Steam like AddOn and etc that you put the mods in because I am not sure how would that going to work in Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection once Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection release on March 14th if you know what I mean.

Yeah. Nothing is known yet, but I hope (or imagine) that they do not modify the LVL hierarchy of each game too much. That is, there may be an AddOn folder for each game and when you open the game a menu where you can select the game you desire to play. It will all depend on how they manage it with regards to mod support.

Nice event! Can't wait to see what's next after the Classic Collection release.
