I was just wondering who's actually active?
Who plays SWBF regularly?
List your platforms as well please! :D
I have got back into it :O
GO SWBF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Well, the low activity recently is probably due to Exams (me) and people switching to Steam
but I try to get on most weekends... And a big holiday is due, so I'll become a lot more active then.
Platform = Mac, you've seen me on GR anyway !
I am regular as a pc. For now I want to get an indoor kite made so I might not be on as regular nightly. I have found a forum to help me with the ideas I have for a kite at kitebuilder.com. (http://www.kitebuilder.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=3474)
Im an VERY ACTIVE mac player and mac rocks!
Meh, at most I only play SWBF once or twice a month now since I quit modding it. And the online has lost a lot of it's charm, it's not really fun anymore.
Eh, i used to be active on the mac side, but since i switched to PC and got steam.......
You should get steam its much better than GR and you can even add swbf to your steam library and steam has all of its features free!!! (GR makes you pay for premium)

This is not true...Steam is one of the worst programms i ever saw, you got restrictions because you don't have enough of Their games. You can't add more friends because of it, friends can't add you because of it. It doesn't work on a non-intel computer.
Gr/Xfire only makes you pay for more things and it doesn't take away your basic friend list and such. This is why i totally hate this programm.
that isnt true darth, as soon as i joined steam i had absolutely no restrictions.
gameranger is not even comparable to steam. GR lacks so many features that should be a gimme on a gaming....idk platform?
1. in-game chat
2. a UI that is more than a list of servers.
3. a game community
Darth you nub...
You don't need to buy any of the games from Steam to be able to utilize it. It's probably one of the most useful utilities (and medium for downloading games) for any gamer.
And you seriously need to get yourself an intel mac. PowerPC Macs are fairly old.

You actually do have to purchase a game using the system to add people as friends. It's one of the ways they deter spammers- nobody wants to shell out for a game just to spam people.
That doesn't mean people can't add you- you just have to ask them to do it over another medium. Like MPC!

Look I've got a none-Intel mac, and I do not see a pressing need to buy one immediately just for a gaming program.
I'll stick to GR until I've managed to save some cash for a Mac Book Pro.
If i get a message like somebody wanted to add me as friend i have to click on it, but i can't do that because it says Restrictions limited.
Secondly AG im fine with the computer i use, its one of the newer mac pro's but without intel harddrive or whatevers in it. Also since you have no other agruments then you don't need to buy one (what has been proved otherways) i'd still say Steam Sucks
And Soap the thing you speak about a cumminity. It aint a cummunity until you have a small amout of players! because otherways allmost EVERY player in the world plays because he likes shooting things or something like that

lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wanna intel hardrive :(
I'm active!!! Just not so much anymore on multiplayer cause when ever I'm on it I'm modding it and it's a pain to switch all the files around just to play MP.

I think your the only one :P
true that jon. i havent met anyone that acually says steam is bad. At least compared to GR.
I'm game. i'm out on the battlefront whenever i can be. but i usually can't be... too busy, you know. without the busyness, i'd be like this person: :tv: but then i'd have this person: :rtfm: telling me to stop playing all the time. but then i'd probably end up doing this behind his back: :tease: but then he'd see me and be like: :nono:
In short, no. not very active.
I love the smileys on this site....
:moo:
Is the swbf community on the PC side any larger than on the mac side?
(mac usually has about 1 room open at a time)
I've been thinking about getting swbf for my PC, but im not all that sure its work buying a dying game....

Im sorry to say this to you Jon, but im not...if you have googled it: Steam Sucks you see that im not the only one. So you shouldn't be posting before you'v googled it (i love this agrument also because its being used against me xD)
I bet mostl of those people havent even bothered to buy multiplayer games.
when i google steam i see nothing but good....
besides, what those people are saying is when they compare steam to xfire as most of them are PC. xfire is a pretty good gaming community and is comparable to steam. However, GR in no way even comes close to the features that steam provides.

I told you not to google steam, but you have to google: steam sucks
I think I would get more hits if I googled gameranger sucks. then again no one knows about gameranger but macs
Wrong. There are 5-10 (maybe more) times as many rooms open on the pc side of gameranger than on the mac side.
well u get what i mean. PC users tend to prefer xfire or steam over GR. i mean, steam gets what? 2 million users online any given day compared to game ranger which gets around.....20,000-ish (off the top of my head)
as i'm checking right now GR has about 7,000 users online, but there are usually more rooms so i would assume highest is 10-12 thousand. If steam has 2million, wow GR us tiny.
right now at 1AM est there is 1.3 million people on steam. 7,700 on GR.

Gameranger and Steam are two completely different programs. You can't really compare them, however gameranger to be honest... sucks... a lot... The only reason why it's popular back in the day was because a good number of mac games relied on it. With gameranger in the PC market now, it lacks a lot of features.
This topic is about BATTLE-FREAKING-FRONT not Steamy or what eva?!
lol, someone started a flame war :cheer:
Yay war! :commander:
Any thread around for long enough will eventually get off topic like this :P
*sighz*
