Idk about usa players but mostly all swbf2 community using gameshare is EU.
The EU community is still active with up to 75 members playing (at least the people i know and that is not blocked from my rootserver)
I have 10 swbf2 servers running and those are the 60% most played servers, but do not join EXTRAVAGANT#pw huso... it will boot u if u're american ;)

I've still seen some populated US servers. You just have to log in at the right time.

Most people now a days use game ranger since its the more popular choice but yeah i still play.
