...it'll do it's best to locate your SWBF install for you (regardless of if you have disk, Steam or GoG), backup the original executable you have (renaming it to "battlefront.exe.backup") and copy in the SWBFSpy executable.

To use it simply extract and run "SWBFSpy Install.exe".

I guess my expectations were fueled with sudden onset of nostalgia. I wasn't even thinking straight. So, how many players are there on Steam?

Hey there! Actually I found SWBF2 original disk, it was pretty dusty, but it's still working and I lost SWBF1 disk, searched for it entire day yesterday, but I downloaded GOG release and followed the instructions, nothing there just black screen with game's mouse cursor I can move around, it's like it's waiting a response from remote server, but nothing else is happening. The backup original still works. I used your install for GOG. EDIT: thanks for the help though!

Thanks, but it doesn't work for me, it's just black screen with the mouse cursor of the game, its the graphic, I can move it, but that's all it's happening. I've checked if backup is still working and it does, backup works just fine, thank God for that. GOG release is latest 1.3.7.4 (40999)

Hi everyone! I have original disk, installed it just now and I also downloaded your patched exe and started the game with that one, also updated hosts file, but I simply don't see much of activity happening nor many servers and one of the servers appears to be using custom map I don't have with 2 players, so I can't join it, other 2 servers are empty. See the screenshot attached

Hey everyone! Last time I played with you was sometime back in 2015/16 and I had a sudden onset of nostalgia and was wondering whether you still play? I lost my swbf1 disk, but have swbf2 here and I'm downloading GOG release of swbf1, but I don't see anyone playing and this forum appears to be frozen in time, sorry for resurrecting old thread if you're all absent, just wanted to say hi to y'all and was wondering if Lord Majesty is still active in the community, he and I played a lot and were a part of the same clan. I think he was from France.

Hi everyone! I played with you years ago and nostalgia hit me out of the blue yesterday. I was wondering when do you play and which maps from Sereja to download?

I have not made any conclusions about who it was.  I am simply asserting that (unless you live in Serbia and use your ISP, according to you) that they would not have the same IP address.

I think you're wrong as many other countries have ISPs that do exact same, use some form of overlapping or overloading of addresses, simply because they have a lot of clients and not that many reserved public addresses, which is normal nowadays. I think Lord Majesty is from France and I think many of his friends are as well. I think you overreacted. He's just reacting to your injustice. You can do whatever you want, it's your website, those are your server, but you'll lose players. If that is your goal, keep it up, I think you're on the right track.

Lol no... Ping is affected by distance from client to server AND connection quality of the clients internet. Several players like Helios have used WIFI in servers before, and they noticed a decrease in lag on their end when switching to ethernet. Not saying it would fix the issue, if your router is good it might have no affect but its worth trying.

Ping is a response time. I don't have lost packets, so the connection is good.

If you think the tournament is so poorly organized then why are you playing?

What r u talking 'bout!? I'm not playing at all, I'm writing in the forum!!! Which is something I won't do either anymore, starting from tomorrow.

I don't understand how you concluded it was Lord Majesty and not his friend from the same country playing under a different nick?

Verified and confirmed, same public static address shared by thousands of others, all over our country.

My ISP does, so your "usually" failed. I know several of ISPs that do as well, depends on the options you pick. I picked cheap. I have the exact same static public IP as their 1000 other clients and we do NOT live under same roof nor in the same city for that matter.

So, to sum it all up for you, you will see the same IP address and they will have different internally inside their ISP network, which will be, eg. 192.168.1.1 and 192.169.1.2, in case of 2 clients of the same ISP. I think that was the problem, but of course, I cannot know until you show me the log.

@Led:
The sharing or whatever they're using is done by the ISP, not by their clients. It's the same IP it just internally gets routed to the local network IP which is usually 192.168.x.x. So there are 2 IPs, one is public, which is the same for, for example, 100 ISP clients, and the other is internal address which is 192.168.x.x, the real one. It's just a translation between the two, it's something that is done on a low level, based on MAC (Media Access Control) address, not ports, lol.

@Anyder:

Dude, you're the only one who said that I have mental problems, you said that, now you twist this around claiming I said it. Reread everything and you'll see. You insulted me by saying I have mental problems. I have autism, which is not a mental problem, it's an evolution. If not accepted by artificial society where "normals" rule, it will be yet another evolutionary dead-end. I have IQ of 130 on a test that tests up to 130. I might be having higher. I was tested by an institution, otherwise I would never test myself. I never studied English, I learned it from movies and series with subtitles.

@Led:
I didn't have any wireless connection problems, otherwise it would have been logged into my router. No, the distance was the cause of 200ms ping.

I think its unfair that after interfering in 3 battles so far, KeyGen is not being penalized for anything.

Ask him if he read the rules and knows what he's doing. I think he doesn't even know which side to join, but that's my opinion based on what happened yesterday.

Quote from: Phobos on July 19, 2015, 05:24:53 AM
If you are using wireless internet, switch to ethernet and you should have lower ping.

LOL, not how Internet protocols work. The ping is related to the distance not the quality of connection. Means that packets of data have to pass through more routers if the distance if larger which renders larger ping, which is a response time. Eg. I'm in Serbia, you're from US and the other server is from Germany. My ping, whether I'm on wireless or ADSL or whichever, will be much larger for US server than for server from the Germany. The quality of connection determines how many packets are lost. My wireless connection is actually better than ADSL I had before, which was a wire.

It's rather disrespectful to blame the organizers for behaviour of players who fail to read the rules of the tourney they're playing in.

I'm blaming organizers for poor organization of entire event. Poor organization doesn't normally deserve any respect. If you think poor organization is something deserving respect, that's your opinion, most people tend to disagree, excluding people who poorly organized or people who are a part of poor organization.

If Majesty and others are giving up because of a server glitch in one battle, that does not mean the tournament is unfair. I think KeyGen should be penalized and possibly even a rematch on Citadel due to one of PFA's top players accidentally getting kicked during the battle. That seems more fair to me than watching an entire clan quit because of an unfortunate glitch. Bomber will decide on the rematch issue.Players were using 'vote to boot' which often causes glitches in the boot system. Not sure if when i clicked boot keygen the 2nd time it decided to boot majesty because of that, or because another player had joined or left between the time i opened the boot window, and when i clicked ban. I've seen this specific issue happen before on PLA, Led tries to boot someone and another player gets booted. So it is a known server glitch.

I think Lucas developers ceasing support and NOT making patch for a bunch of bugs and holes they produced while making mistakes during development is the main cause. It's a buggy game allowing people to cheat and whatnot. But, yeah, a rematch would be fair, although you'd have to really apologize to Lord Majesty and ask for forgiveness for something like that to happen.

I have the C1 english title given by the British Council and im taking the Proficiency exam next year, so please, shut up.

If you say so. I don't have any titles nor taking any exams and I still write it better than you. And I think that the fact that I'm also autistic strikes you the most, because you cannot bear someone autistic knowing a foreign language better than you. Issues, issues, dude, you got some serious issues.

Majesty: Using a player from YAK's roster to play for PFA & joining the sever as a YAK member during the YAK vs WGT match on Jedi Temple.

Dude!!! Lord Majesty is on the shared server, that's why the IP is the same! I'm on a shared server, but fortunately none of the people from my country play in  this tourney, otherwise it would seem like I'm doing the same thing, lol.

Keygen: Involvement with Majesty, Killing a admin while spectating, delaying the FC vs WGT battle on Nar Shadaa by refusing to listen to admins & attempting to kill FC players throwing off the tickets.

For the 100th time, he didn't read the rules, when he sees someone, he shoots, it's a normal reaction. I'd do the same as I don't know how to differentiate between admin spectators and normal enemies. These are kids, most of them are joining games to shoot stuff, not to read dozens of rules. Me too, but I did waste time reading them, which I regret now, because the authors of rules don't obey them either. It was a waste of time.
