Bah! Our guy (Kitchener) had superior facial hair.

[took out picture as it's fairly large]

I could technically live right next to his grave since no-one knows where it is.

Strange, because he is a couple of generations younger than "Uncle" Sam Wilson.

But I guess I might also live right next to his grave, too.    ???

ETA: Uncle Sam is a national symbol, a metaphor for the U.S., while Mr. Kitchener appears to be just propaganda along the same lines as Rosie the Riveter.  A more apt comparison would seem to involve John Bull.

I hail from Louisiana, the Show-'Em-To-Me state.

The great state of Pennsylvania. Although my dialup would make you think I was on Mars because of how slow it is.

Are you by the fire?
Not really, closes one was about 60 miles away and burned about 10,000 acres but they have that one under control.

Kitchener was a cool bloke.

Both posters are propaganda, although the Kitchener version was actually the original, from which the uncle Sam poster was based upon.

I think I prefer the US one though as it exerts more patriotic jingoism.

Well, I live in Belgium.
We are best known for our medieval city's and our complicated politics.
We like to eat chocolate and french fries, and we adore drinking beer  :P.
Though Belgium is only a dot compared to most U.S states.

Alabama is where I live.  We have about 4-5 million people in the state, and lots of pine trees. :)

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

I'm from Massachusetts. We like chowder, baseball, and slowly removing the letter R from the spoken english language.
