Yes I meant the map assets. Why not?

Because I don't make a lot of outdoor, wide-open maps, I don't end up making a lot of "lego"-type pieces. Most of my assets are all usable only really for the specific purpose they were designed for.

So there are a couple reasons - one, I don't think that most of my assets are usable in a flexible matter (i.e. they would only be valuable for recreating this exact map) and two, I don't think my assets fit style- or quality-wise with stock assets (the stock assets are by and large better), and I don't think they'd look very good paired with stock assets.

They're stock Alliance textures - everything in GCW is unchanged from the base game.

:O Have these assets been released?

Aside from the map models (which I don't plan on releasing), there's nothing really unique about anything used for the sides - they all use stock SWBF2/1 hero models.

Thanks Maveritchell!

Would you mind if we mirrored your map here, too ?

Go for it; just make sure it's always packaged with its readme (the base .zip file already has this).

Thanks Mav! I didn't know you still played SWBF1! I'm gonna try this right now!

I don't really play SWBF1 often; I picked up the game about a year ago so that I could actually give reviews (as opposed to "herp derp here's a file, here's what I guess it has based on pictures") on submitted mods at SWBFFiles.

Anyway, have fun, let me know what you think!

My reaction:
OMG!! Downloading now!
Unziped
say it was exe
Cried for an hour ( maybe that's not true )

Does someone want to take it out of exe for me?

Sorry about that! I completely forgot about Mac users. Added a .zip-only link to the first post.

Hey all,

I had some free time this weekend and last, and for kicks and giggles I wanted to step through the SWBF2>SWBF1 conversion - and maybe learn a little about SWBF1 along the way. Since ZE doesn't work on my computer, I had to use one of my maps without terrain, and since Death Star II was already largely constructed without ZE, it was an easy choice.

I also took the time to play around and look for workarounds to SWBF1's limited animation system, and to play with this I made a pseudo-hero-assault mode. It plays... okay. I'll be the first to confess that I didn't spend a lot of time working this one through, and it's only really an experiment. I think the map still works great for team deathmatch with regular sides (which is what the GCW era has).

So speaking as a modder, I'm not a huge fan of what SWBF1 brings to the table (although I know a little more about that now, though), although it is fun seeing Yoda slink around in prone. Always silver linings!

Who's gonna come after me?
Lucasarts?
Pandemic?

If they were paying attention we would have had a new patch in the last 4 years.

Fang my contact info is in the post if you wanna take this up.
I like your attitude - "It's only wrong if someone sees me doing it."

There aren't too many people left who make maps. You should emphasize the PAID portion of your first post- that got me considering coming back out of retirement!
That should perhaps be omitted rather than emphasized. Accepting reimbursement for mod work done with a commercial game is pretty much 100% of the time against the EULA and illegal.

So I have a surprise for the community of someone could only find me a model of the rancor that is UV mapped...
The stock Rancor model is UV-mapped. Convert the .msh file to an .obj file (use Meshtool) and just re-apply the texture in XSI (the UVs are preserved, even though the texture isn't auto-applied).

Could someone port the GAT (the cis tank from convo pack on naboo prototype), to SWBF1 format?
It is in SWBF1 format. There is zero difference between SWBF1 and 2 meshes, as far as most things are concerned.

You keep asking the same question in various different places under various different handles, but the answer is the same as when you asked a while ago:

The K-Wing is an unused Pandemic asset. It may have been created by fred when he was working on Battlefront, but he doesn't have any screenshots of it on his website (and if there's an unused asset he made, there are usually pictures of it there). Just FYI.

Whoever enveloped those models didn't hide the bone_root/pelvis correctly and it's frozen and visible at the base of the model. You can re-envelop the models or you can simply find some other model to use.

Unused content doesn't mean something's "unfinished." All it means is that - as with every game ever made - more content was made than there was a practical use for. Extra CPs (if there were any at all - a localization key doesn't mean anything) could simply be removed for balanced reasons after having already been put in.

I am sorry, very sorry. I didn't think that the autor of the video might have done that. It sounded so real.
Nothing to be sorry about. It can be done, it just wasn't in that particular video.
