Funnily enough there's a whole board here dedicated to 3D modelling.

http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?board=67.0

XSI is the most commonly used application, unfortunately it costs a great deal of cold hard cash.

XSI Modtool is free, and have no differense with XSI, except export/import. XSI versions, compatable with Pandemic addon is out of sale anyway.

Um you guys do know you can just download the free one and use ANDEWEGET's exporter? Heck it even does animations now or so I am told.

Yes, but unfortunatly, ANDEWEGET's exporter probably was created for XSI only, and not adopted for free XSI ModTool yet. Perhaps, it is the only one reason for now, to buy real XSI...

Well, if you read last post's on Gametoast ANDEWEGET topic, you may see, how I try it on practice. But my testing result was next:
Simple models has some texture bug;
More complicated models - crash.
If you try it, with your ModTool, and it will be work's fine, so the problem may be with my ModTool, and I have to change it, to some other version.
