I was wondering if anyone knew how to host DC's. It would be awesome if you could reply asap. I wouldnt be hosting the DC a friend (I hope) from VS would host it. If you could please tell me it would be awesome. Maybe even pin it because seeing as we are a mac and pc gaming site it would be imperative that people knew how to host them :)

If you want it so that both Mac and PC players can join. You will need someone to have a computer with SWBF running 24/7. Just go to Multiplayer, Direct Connection, Create.

If you want it so that you don't need the game to be running all the time, download and run the Dedicated Server Software. It is PC ONLY and that means only PC users can join.

This is the last time I will explain this. Ever.

Before you go to multiplayer, direct connection, create, you need to port forward. Port forwarding is a process that is different with everyone, so you should go to http://portforward.com/ to find the steps you specifically need.

If you find those instructions to hard to understand you can download the lighthouse app. Weili posted and pinned a topic on how to use it properly to port forward for swbf in the IF forum. The instructions were so easy to follow that even I could do it! I could easily host DCs and hosted a mini tournament once. I believe the Lighthouse instructions for port forwarding are the same for everyone.

However, I only got the free demo, and after 2 weeks or so it stopped. Seeing as how you have a gold GR account, it seems that you can spend money like that, so you might want to get the full version which is 13 bucks.

Thank You, Zenwa, for the extended explanation. Hope it helps Rex!
