There is a small group of Battlefront PS2 players. Try Friday and Saturday nights. There are also Battlefront 2 players on those nights as well. Bring a mic.

If you can get the patch on your PC, there is a way to download it to your PS2 by setting up a local DNS server. The name of the file that makes up the patch is:
SLUS_208.98.zdb
If anyone can get this file, let me know.

You may want to contact Lucas Arts support. According to the tech at GameSpy, if you can connect to the internet and see the master list, that's where their (GameSpy) responsibility ends. If you are having trouble joining a server, that has something to do with Lucas Arts. In the case of Battlefront for PS2, there needs to be at least one server on the list that is not behind a router in order to join any server. If all servers on the list have a 9998 ping, it is impossible to join any server. It won't connect and just times out. There may be a similar issued with the PC version. I believe Lucas Arts still supports the PC version, you should give them a call.

I can see both of those servers.
It doesn't matter what ports you open, if you are behind a router, you will get a 9998 ping.
I am using a software called sbmfc sample. I got it from one of the techs at GameSpy. I have tried to email the program to other players, but they couldn't get it to work.

Hi Tirpider,
A lot of those posts are mine. I've been trying to resolve the patch issue for quite a while. There are actually two Star Wars Battlefront 1 online play possibilities for PS2. One is without the patch and the other is with the patch. If you log on without the patch, you will be taken to an empty master list where you can only host a game with a maximum of 4 players created from your PS2. If you log on with the patch you will be taken to a different master list that has PC dedicated servers (this is the one with your server).
Do you know who is hosting the two SWBFgamers.com servers for PS2? There is a problem with those servers, they are not visible on the PS2 master list. I know they are out there because I have software on my PC that allows me to see what servers are being hosted without turning on my PS2. I have no idea as to what the problem may be. I hope to see you again and anybody else out there that still has the patch is welcome to join us.

The PS2 community is very small. Unfortunately, the patch required to play is no longer available for download. Players that have the patch on their memory card can still play but anyone else is out of luck. If you try to log on without the patch, it will just take you to an empty master list. If anyone has a solution to the problem, let me know.
