Is there a particular reason why they wouldn't?
I think someone here gave a good, solid reason once, but I've forgotten.

Well I have a reason to say. probally not a very good one but here we go.

I figure if steam were to put SWBF1 on there site for free download alot of people would want to try it and than after they play that it would get them curios about SWBF2 so than they must try that and we would get more swbf1 and 2 players here.... maybe

Okay now that I said what i wanted to you can tell me all the many things wrong with this.

and you now what this is all of topic. sorry I just heard SWBF1 on steam and got carred away
maybe i need a "get SWBF1 on steam" thread.  :P

anyway the point is we need to back up steam SWBF2 so GOG update will not wreck all/most of its mods. correct?

well good day evreyone!

U do not need a modding PC. U can always create VIrtual Machine with Oracle.
I have several runing different OS (Win & Linux) with both 32bit and 64bit to be used for different purposes

well a single core with 3 gigs of ram on the host PC is not idial for a virtual machine. but I have tryed and it gives me the runtime error.(on zero edit in VM)
altho this problem can be solved using a early win10 build i got a while ago its just too slow to run the VM.(64bit win10 iso)

And also I have a qustion:
WHAT IDIOT DESIGNED A WIN7 64! BIT PC WITH 3 GIGS OF RAM A SINGLE CORE CPU AND NO GRAPHICS CARD!
THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST GAVE IT 4 GIGS LIKE A SANE PERSON!
(this was when windows7 was first comming out)
Sorry for the rant its just that it is so slow.
but A friend of mine has a PC he dose not use anymore that is probally capable of SWBF modding.
so i will see if i can get that. (just FYI I do not usally go asking people for things.and I am shure he wont mind..... but thats probally what we all think!  :P)
than all i need is time. 8)

thanks for your help. and I agree VMs are so usefull...and downright fun. ecspesialy when retro gaming. and playing around with old OSes and testing new ones.

I'd be willing to be a judge. I can only actually play on SWBF1 but I guess Anyder can just send me video of his gameplay of any SWBF2 mods/maps to judge off of.

I think it will be SWBF1 mostly anyway.

well sounds fun guys. good night.

EDIT: sorry if this somehow got posted twice. something weird happend while posting.

I would REALY! REALY! REALY! like to join this compition.......
but I am afraid I might not have the time to.(thats the scarryist thing this halloween. so I probally allready won!)

but if I do manage to come up with somthing than I will try to enter it.  ;)

of course i will have to get a modding computer first.
I think i have found one that will work but if i cant get it than I will try to use a freinds computer.
I am realy exited about this! :cheer:

SWBF1 Modding / Re: ZERO EDIT won't work
September 18, 2017, 05:58:47 AM
I have same problum.
for me my PC just wont run it.
but i guess i don't really have time to do that anyway.

if you give us your video driver info we might be able to help more.

I think ZERO edit is highly depent on the right video card and driver.
altho i have no idea what cards and driver works for it and what does not.
also do you have a video card?
or just using the on board video.

sorry if you don't under stand me.
my English is not very good.

good luck to you.

All it takes is some practice and patience.

and a good idea and good planning.(those are the hardest for me.)
I find it easier if I draw the map first on paper or with gimp.

Quote from: Gistech on July 17, 2017, 04:56:07 AM
I've been considering ditching this version of the map and rebuilding it smaller anyway.

In my experence with maps that happens alot.

Best of luck to you Gistech!

This is going to seem like very strange (and pointless!) advice but each time I have had Zero Editor spit a "Visual C++ Runtime Error" at my face on startup simply running ZE again right away has fixed it.

that is exactly what always happened on my old modding PC(It Died)
I just dug this one i am using now from years ago.

atachet to this post is a more detailed specs image.
hope it is enof info.

SWBF1 Modding / Runtime error!
July 17, 2017, 11:01:55 PM
when I try to start zero edit it says runtime error

I allredy try'd the fixes from the other posts but none of them would work.
this PC always did this.
is there some hack or somthing to get by this?

it is a win7 PC with 3 GB of RAM and a single core 2,20 GHZ CPU
and built in graphics. (no graphics card.)

and again none of the fixes i found on here would work. eg, no spaces, compadibilty, update zero edit bla bla bla.

any sugestions?

The Complete Saga is on the list of games that you are allowed to use assets to create mods from, but the other two don't seem to be on either list. So those games might not even come under Disney's EULA.

well I am pretty shure the most the assets from The Complete Saga are just worked over assets from the first 2 lego star wars games anyway.
so I will just use the Complete Saga's assets if I ever get around to it.

thanks
