Indeed they did, Lady Lumiya if I remember her name correctly did wield a lightwhip. She was around during the EU, I believe she was around during 100-130 ABY (when Cade Skywalker was a Jedi/pirate).

She was in lots of comics and books, but if that didn't interest you, The Clone Wars also featured lightwhips if I remember correctly, so they aren't completely out of the canon.

Aha, that's it.  Lady Lumiya was Legacy of the Jedi series I think.  30ish years after A New Hope.

Tech Support / Re: Mod maps and files arent working
November 29, 2014, 09:22:53 PM
That looks like an extraction issue.  Note that the folder listed is a temporary folder.  My suggestion is this:
1.)  If you can, redownload the mod.  Hit "Save" instead of just "Open" (skip step 1 if you can find the file in a folder that isn't temporary with a crazy name, like C:\Users\xxx\Downloads)
2.)  If I recall, it is a 7z file.  Using 7zip, copy the mod outside, into the "Downloads" or "Desktop" or whatever, just not directly in Program Files.  Copying directly into Program Files from a program that isn't just Windows Explorer can cause weird issues exactly like this.
3.)  Make sure permissions are right in the folders you are copying to.  Is your account Admin?  Is the folder listed as Read-Only?

Try some of these and I will try to give more suggestions.

Side Note -- you may want to run Windows Disk Cleanup Program or CCleaner to clean out that folder in case something in the temp folder is causing weird issues.

I'm waiting for the laser sword with a curved blade.
I think EU had a light whip or something or other.  I can't remember what book or game. :P

'Please, tell me more about the logistics of the design of laser swords being wielded by space wizards' - Some guy on the internet.

Quote of the week.  Signature worthy!

If you guys are talking about the Kevin I think you are talking about, he is relatively active on Xfire playing The Old Republic.  I don't talk to him often, but he's there.

I can send out email blasts, but that only accounts for the BOBclan site and the SNP clan site and a couple others.  I can get in touch with some of the old 1.0 members who hide in the shadows though.  If there's any other places I can tell, then let me know.

Battlefront 2 1.3 patch (which I have played) is basically a large scale mod.  Over the years we have worked on various things like this, but not on that large of a scale.  BF2 is more friendly with modding than BF1 is, but we make do with it.  J-dee's 1.5 patch may be kind of what you want in the way of a big giant mod: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=5140.msg49441#msg49441

Various other mods around here (Main Play Mod) are large scale for most of your game.  Online compatibility is questionable, as I have not used these for a long time.

Battlefront 1 v1.3 is an executable update to the game (not a mod) that fixes some of the minor hard-coded problems in 1.2, but because Pandemic never finished it, it is unstable.

There are no maps that only work in 1.3.  Yes, 1.3 allows you to have more maps in the addon folder, but the beta patch is highly unstable, and will not fix crash problems.  Actually, it tends to make them worse, in my experience.

I am not sure about royal guards. it will be a modmap ..
Royal Guards vs Droids can be played without a download.

This mod is pretty epic, especially when I played it online.  Great job!

I am waiting for Norwood.  He could not play yesterday, and told me he will forfeit the round if we can't fit it in before the end of the round.

I post here to verify that is the time we are shooting for.

You're going down Norwoody.  We will find a time to duke it out.

SWBF2 Modding / Re: LUA error

Is it added to the mission.req?  This file is normally located just outside the folder with your lua files.

I had some extremely funky error that probably is not related, but when I was making my shell mod for Mandalorian Wars, Clone Wars started acting really funny.  The names quit localizing and actually changed to something like bes2cw or something like that.  I never did find the error, I had to put something else in to change it back in scripts I wasn't even working in.

I knew that if you changed it to "Bes2CW" the core would never find it, but I never changed the part that declares it.

Out of my remembering...

Is this just for your level or all levels?  And how many mod maps do you have in your Addon Folder?
