GIMP is a Image manipulation program. You can edit the .lvl files with an hex editor. ;)

The first reticule is very pretty, nice!

I personally use Battlebelk's Toolbox and especially his Common.lvl Builder.

You can edit the image under the ' Spawn ' button or the background.

You can also make a 'readme' file, with credits and else ;)

Yes, you just need to edit images in Common.lvl Builder \ Data \ Common and save them in Common.lvl Builder \ Custom \ Common ( save the file in the good folder, if you edit an image wich was in the 'Interface' folder, save it at the another 'Interface' folder.

Then, run Common.bat

Of course, i know how the builder works ;)
i made the crosshair mod with it.
but i want to know which data it is i have to edit Oo
(under the spawn point... that is my favourite)

If you want to edit the background before spawning, the file is called 'shell_cube'

If you want to edit the spawn selection, idk wich file it is xd

Maybe a little tutorial ho ich can edit the background :-) ?
or isnt it so difficult?

Well as you can see its just a simple image wich is repeated to make the 'blue background', so if you write " By Starkiller ", you will see it on every 'cubes'.

( this screenshot will explain what i want to say : http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/90689832-4.jpg )

You can edit every .tga file with an image manipulator program like Gimp or Photoshop, but you already know it, you modified your crosshairs^^

The "cubes" are actually as you said part of the texture, but its just basically half a box modeled in XSI with that texture. you can change the backround to anything including nothing, you could put an object there, a clone model etc

For example, one of my friend modded his background with an actress : http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/4816/31453769.jpg

Ok, i try it.
your friend has a very nice background ;)
is it possible to edit the "spawn" button?

"Spawn"  (and now below the spawn button--with gimp wrote)
"By:Starkiller"

If u dont understand this, i have to make an manipulate screenshot.
But thy all

Here, that is what i mean:

Possible with a core.lvl mod but I can't be bothered explaining how to do it. Maybe someone else will.

You can edit the texte with a core.lvl editor or edit the image and add text with the good file ( if you know what is its name )
