how long are they going to keep checking on the website for tournament updates? Them how long are they going to hang around at all if nothing is going on?

You basically described me. I only play SWBF1 if there's an ICW happening. However I'm still around and checking the forums daily even when there's not one.

Maybe temporarily, but a lot of them will go inactive again when it ends.

Certainly! And those 2-3 months will be fun!

I'm sure ICW6 will bring some players back.

Can individual players join this or do they have to be part of a clan?

This is a clan tournament. If you don't have one then you can always post a free agent forum on their forums.

If anyone is interested, theswbfc.com will be hosting a drop zone tournament on PS4! For more tournament details you can go here: http://www.theswbfc.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=621

If anyone is interested in private matches on PS4, we have been doing 4v4 and 5v5 mix scrims everyday since private matches were released.

I host a server on GameRanger, and once in a while I get a player who, when trying to join the game, instantly crashes the server for everyone and they are all sent to the lobby. They would mention it was a fresh install, but any time they try to join a server it crashes for everyone.

As you can imagine, this might possibly be abused. Does anyone know a fix for it? Or even know what I'm talking about?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a fix, the server crash is being caused by players using a crash code in the SWBF2 1.3 patch code console. The code basically boots everyone from the lobby and crashes the server.

Here's the download https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_i2nesYx6YVMHA1WFU3RzROYms/edit

This is the Gamespy version and should work on GameRanger (I don't know if the GameShare version works on GameRanger), just replace the battlefrontII.exe you downloaded with the one in your server files and no one will be able to crash your server again.

Now the original SWBF1 had plenty of problems out of the gate.  When I started playing in January 2005 the game was rife with teamkillers and wallhackers,

I highly doubt there were wallhackers, especially in 2005.

1. Drop Zone
2. Cargo
3. Supremacy

Drop Zone I play the most because I feel like it's the best game mode for competitive play. Also I typically abuse the OP DL-44 in Drop Zone so I can keep my 3.6 K/D. I occasionally get bored and will use a gun that takes skill like the EE3 but that's only fun until you hit a lobby where there's 6-7 other people running the DL-44 + Scan Pulse so I eventually am forced to switch back.

Cargo I like playing because it's really the only game mode where the Jawa Shotgun is good on multiple maps. I occasionally play it just to use that gun.

Supremacy is fun because the DL-44 is irrelevant. I play it when I feel like using the T21-B.

I hope the DL-44 is either nerfed or down-graded. Me and my brother just got live yesterday, and multiplayer was fun, but I noticed a lot of heck from DL-44 and a few others that were way over powered.

The thing that sucks is I don't see a way where they can nerf it and make it viable at the same time. I feel like the gun is at a stage where it's super over powered but if nerfed it will make the gun useless. Another issue is that the gun is so over powered it's actually impossible to see if there are other guns that are as overpowered. I feel like the SEC14 + Explosive shot is by far superior then any other gun excluding the DL-44. However it's over looked because of how powerful and easy to use the DL-44 is.

General / Re: Favorite Star Wars Film Antagonist?

*Removed my comment about Plageuis, I read a few theory's and a couple made sense*

I liked Maul, even though overall Vader is a stronger/better villain I'm going to vote Maul. I felt like he was pretty cool, they should have kept him as the main Antagonist in episode 2 and 3 since Dooku was a pretty dumb villain. It would have also helped character development. The problem with the prequels for me is that no character has any meaning besides Anakin since the story of him becoming Darth Vader has to be told. At least if Darth Maul wasn't killed off then Obi-Wan would have had a purpose for wanting revenge for Qui-Gon Jinn.

The more I play the game, the more I actually enjoy it more then the originals. I only have a couple complaints about the game and if they were to fix them I'd even say that this game is better than SWBF1 & SWBF2.

Complaints:

1. No private lobbies

I don't really care about server browser and renting servers but at least compensate with private lobbies like halo...

2. More than 2 star card loadouts

This gets really annoying if you play Drop Zone, Cargo or even Droid Run since there's so many things you have to counter. (*cough* Personal Shield *Cough*) I think increasing the limit that you can have mid game to three would be a lot better.

3. Nerf the DL-44 hard

This gun is retarded. Nuff said.

There might be a couple more things that I didn't think of right now but the game might lack a couple things however I think it makes up for what it lacks in other aspects of the game.

I had the PS4 bundle pre-ordered and I got it yesterday. The game is pretty amazing in my opinion, I know it's nothing similar to the old Battlefronts but it's 2015 almost 2016, it's time to move on.

If the game allows LAN play, you could make a server using hamachi or tunngle or something like that.  But that remains to be seen.  It seems like they want people to have no access to online play, when they decide to turn their own servers off.

If there's no server browser, then there is going to be no LAN.

edit: not to offend, there was some strategy in the old games. I just mean on  a different level

More like on a very basic level.
