At the moment you can head over to Good Old Games and pick yourself up a free copy of Torchlight. You don't llike RPGs you say? How about massive savings on all kinds of games that are DRM free? Don't like games? What are you doing on this site?

(Did I mention it is also on mac?)

GOG.com (Good Old Games) is giving away a copy of Torchlight as part of a summer sale.

QuoteAll you need to do, is to visit the Torchlight product page and put it in your cart. You'll pay exactly $0.00 for it, as long as you complete your purchase before Thursday, June 20, at 12:59PM GMT.

I kinda dig this site and game sellers like them. No crazy online only drm garbage and they have a lot of indie games. I got Fallout from them (it was free at the time.)

I've never played Torchlight, but it looks a lot like the Diablo style RPGs.  I like Diablo styled RPGs, so I'll give what looks like a well made game a shot.

Oh, and it has a level editor and mod support. So.. there is that too.

HAHA!
You must have got the email at the same time I did.

I just D/l'ed the game. It will be a nice distraction from broken triangles for a while.

LOL.

So the game has mod support eh? I'm already interested. Does anyone have an idea of how it BASICLY works?
Do you "munge" compress/compile 3D files and the like?

It looks like a straight forward, all in one, level editor.

All the model assets are in a .MESH format. (Ogre, prehaps? idk)
3DObjectConverter can load (some of) them without the materials.

They do include an exporter for 3dsmax and various templates in .max format.

The Level Editor (TorchED) installer places all sorts of assets and documentation in it's install directory and seems pretty well organized.

I haven't one clue what modding or level building would be like though.

Haven't played it to find out if I even want to mod it yet.

There was an GMOgre port for gamemaker8, and it used MESH format for 3D as well( which I thought was cool ).

It sounds very interesting, but I'm not sure I want to get into it yet

Welcome back
Thanks Tirpider. It's good to be back after such a long absence. I missed you guys, I only hope you feel the same way.  :)

Where's my Steam Summer Sale ay?
I'm tempted... but the only action RPG for me is Monster Hunter.

Your game saving variables are in need of adjusting.

char freegameresponse = "May as well pick it up."

But last time I picked up a free game it resulted in a serious hat addiction!
