Just bought the game again on steam. Glad to have caught up with some people - seems like most of us are getting married and having kids already, lol.

Thanks for keeping the forum up and running throughout all these years.

Other Games / We need an mmorpg!
June 17, 2010, 07:23:10 AM
MPCGamers has shooters, and fun games. But we honestly need a main FREE mmorpg for everyone to play together.

I don't know about you guys, but I personally hate playing mmorpg's alone. It gets bored. and the grinding...meh.

Anyways, we need one to play together! Any ideas?

Mine's: Ragnarok (There are plenty of private servers out there, they're free)

Tech Support / Recording XBOX360 Gameplay
June 14, 2010, 09:10:12 AM
I've searched countless hours of the internet, and nothing's shown for what I have to record my xbox360 gameplay. I don't have a DVD recorder or a capture card, so I'll start off from there.

I want to know a way to record xbox360 gameplay. Whether it'd be through my computer screen, or tv. I play on an old magnavox tv with the basic rca cables. However I do have an hd tv with vga, dvi cables, etc.

I have a DVD player, which records vcr and not dvd's sadly :(

So, what could I do to record?

An idea also occurred. I have a video camera that has one input cable. On the other side are 3 rca cables to plug into the tv. So could i...connect my xboxto the dvdplayer/vcr recorder (so I play through there) and plug in my camera through my dvdplayer to record? would that work?

Any tips appreciated.

I lag when I record in game, and I never do.

Is it because of my /noframelock?

:wave:So, we all, if not most, have used the speed hack cheat engine provides us in SWBF right?

It's easy. Start SWBF, go into a singleplayer game, and use the hack.

However, if you try this in a swbf server, it only lags your game.

Why? The same reason your game lags if you try any hacks. If the host isn't running any hacks, the player cannot either.

So this is how to use the hack in multiplayer.

1. Start off by having CE(the newest version if possible.)

2. Run SWBF.

3. Host a server, do not use pc dedicated tools.

4. Use your Speed Hack. I recommend setting it to either half or 2x. Do not go over, or else you can crash your game and lag out of your server.

5. Now, anyone who connects to your server will still lag . They do not have the speed hack. What they must do is download CE, and set their speed settings to the SAME settings you have it set to.

6. Have the person join the server (with the identical speed settings. If the settings are different, the person is most likely to lag out.)

7. Wallah! You and the person now are moving at modded game speeds in a multiplayer game!

Notes: This works with multiple people as well. Do not go over 4x or 8x speed. Your ping is affected by speed. If the person you're playing is at 100ping, and you're playing at 4x speed, 100 x 4x = 400 Ping. It works if you're going at half speed as well (1/2x.)  100Ping x 1/2speed = 50Ping. Therefore, the person has 50ping.

Feel free to mess around with this. I myself haven't done to much with it. Last time I did this was over 8 months ago. Felt like posting it now, don't hate. Enjoy! :moo:

(this isn't tested for macs yet.)

Other Games / Final Fantasy 13
May 31, 2010, 12:59:28 PM
Wasn't sure where to post this, so I put it in other games.

Anyone interested it buying it on ebay? Lol I'm selling, (not that you have to buy from me http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320540446017&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_948

It's a good game. Although it's somewhat repetitive and boring, especially if you don't have HDMI.

What were/are your thoughts on this game?

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / SWBF
May 15, 2010, 01:50:10 PM
What can we say?

Name the reason why you love/loved this very beloved game.

Mine is: It is probably the most fun I've ever had with people I've never met. The game was simplistic and the players, as short (on amount) as they were, were family.

Other Games / @Request
March 28, 2010, 06:56:37 AM
Well, instead of waste my name on google and try to find a good game, I figure'd I'd ask here.

Keep in mind I want one that's...um...easy to torrent...not saying I will...but one that's not unbelievably hard to hack like Aion...some people are short on money right now...

I'm looking for: 1. A good shooter! FPS please, and something along the lines of COD.

2. A good MMO. Please, not too much grinding and quests. Although I know that's a biggie.

--Not too good of graphics. My computer's a year old and doesn't have the best system in the world. It could probably handle games along the lines of Mass Effect 2--

Thanks in advance!

Requests / Easy Mod Request :)

Hey, I was wondering if there is (or if someone can make a MOD) where everything is as normal, except dark troopers have rebel rocket launchers? I need it for training:)

thanks

So on my desktop I've got an integrated HD3200 ATI Radeon graphics.

I've been wanting to upgrade, and I'm not too sure what integrated means, although I've tried googling it and such.

Can anyone explain to me what integrated means exactly? (I know it means something about being sodered to the motherboard....) And what's a good gaming Grahpics card to buy for my desktop?

Check the link for the specs on my computer. I'm using windows 7 ultimate too.

Ah. Lagging? Nope. But that's what you thought the title said huh?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag

This is what wikipedia defines as lag. And yes, it's correct.

Lagging - Is the effect of Lag. In gaming, lag is when your computer 'freezes' or 'gets choppy.' This can be a huge nuisance. You'll be running along to shoot a guy and boom! You've been teleported 50 feet from where you were. What happened? Well, you're lagging. In extremely easy to understand terms, your connection with your server has been...chopped. Packets that are coming and going between your computer and the server is being delayed/chopped.

Lag can also happen in singleplayer. But it's caused by either your computers potent ability to handle applications, or it's graphics card. Having a good gaming computer (or at least being able to run a game's requirements (NOT MINIMAL)) should cause you to be lagless in singleplayer.

Lag can be caused by a lot of different things, in which I won't get into much detail.

Now in SWBF, the good ol' Euro players have given the grace to give the term of 'laggering.' Note the difference? Lag+ging-ing+er=Laggering. Now what is this thing you speak of Quik? Well, ever shoot a guy and shots don't register? Like on your screen it says you hit him, and on his screen, it hit him, but he lost no health ? Well this is laggering.

Laggering is caused by two things.

Frame Rate: Yes, the higher the framerate, the lower your ping. The better the graphics card, the higher the framerate. But your ping doesn't fall by that much when you do have a high framerate. Maybe 2-7 at the most. If you run 20 FPS, the person only has to sidestep, and it becomes extremely hard to hit him by aiming at him. You have to aim away from him to hit him. And yes, it sucks. :( Same thing in 30fps.

Ping: Your connection to the server. It's affected by framerate, graphics (same as frameright pretty much), and internet connection. The closer you are to the servers area, the faster your internet, the better your ping. The better the graphics card, the lower the ping also. And this can be proven by taking a bad graphics card, and hosting/joining a server with it. You will lag AND your ping will be high. If, however you take a good graphics card and join a server with it, your ping will be lower and you shouldn't lag. Also, the speed of the game affects your gameplay. I tested this out with Cheat Engine on a server, with John. His ping while he hosted = 15. Mine =100 (it's normally 200 because I'm in the states and he's in Italy.)

Now, put those two things together and you got laggering.  The  :censored: of Battlefront. You can't hit your opponent, and he/she can't hit you. Great.

The only way to fix laggering is get better graphic's card, better internet connection, better computer...etc. 33ping=200ping

It just depends on how you play, and how well you manage your ping.

Debates? Feel free to fire any questions away, I'll be glad to answer them.

SWBF1 Modding / Help With Hex Editing on Core.lvl
December 06, 2009, 03:07:47 PM
So I'm just wondering. I was talking to someone who was teaching me something, and he told me "Edit the running process by entering the ASCII Code for..."

To my knowledge, it's not possible to hex edit the running process of a game. But if I can, and also by using Cheat Engine (if needed), how would I do it?

SWBF1 Modding / Never Resolved Modding Help =/
December 05, 2009, 09:21:55 PM
So about 8 months ago (?...) I asked the same question here, but it was never resolved. So I'd figure I'd ask it again. Everyone time I run BFBuilder, I can't munge. This is the error I get

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/7371/43144345.png

Now it says it can't locate the munge file...but...I don't have it..

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2428/67087217.png

I just made a new world, created a terrain for it, and tried mungeing. I had this same problem on vista, but now I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate edition. My BFBuilder's saved under C:\BFBuilder

What should/do I do to fix the problem?

To-Be Modder in need of help,

SWBF1 Modding / Cd Loading Screen
December 05, 2009, 04:39:42 PM
I made some screens for the CD Loading Screen of swbf1 (the little screen that pops up with the darth vader breathing in the beginning after you pop in the cd xD) :) There are about 6-10 of them, with the original copy of the loading screen backed up. THEY SHOULD work with Macs and PC's. Unfortuntely, it doesn't work with the Best of PC Pack (although you're welcome to try.)

http://www.mediafire.com/?ttmilbq5lmy

edit by buckler:  Link is broken. If anyone has this file let me know.

It's virus free and all made by me. Not much time or effort was placed into them. If you want me to make a custom one especially for you, send me a message, post here, or xfire me.

The instructions are in the download in a notepad file. You need some type of extractor (such as Winrar to extract the files.)

Cheers and Enjoy.

Alright, so I'm going to make this as short and sweet as I can.
Why I'm making this 'readme' only guide: Recently I've made a decision. I was always playing with the Euro pros, because the North American side was starting to bore me. It wasn't competitive anymore. I had learned so much from all the German and French players. And not just any of the players, but the best. Treasarion, Habi, Ace, Shurtugal, Hawk...all these players contributed to my skill. And now, I wanna teach the American players this. The only one who knows the 1on1 general and somewhat advanced playing style is Jamman (I'm sure you've all heard of him, especially me spamming his name with my F9 command on public servers lol.)   So let's start...

The BASICS: Now these are the BASIC BASICS if you will. Things you learn when you start off playing.

1. Move and Shoot: The worse thing you can do is sit there like a sitting duck and try shooting a moving object. You'd die before you even got a shot on them.

2. Moving: This is something every good player uses. Now it depends on your default settings, but the basic default movement is WASD. DO NOT USE YOUR ARROW KEYS

3. Shooting: Well this is basic enough. Click your left mouse button 0.o

4. Typing: Don't complain when someone killed you why typing. It's your fault to type in the first place. Pick a spot where people won't come, so you can type in peace
