running applications from flash drive

is it possible to install an application to a flash drive?

for example. let's say I wanted to take an application from my computer and run it on my school computers, can I put the app on a flash drive and run it at my school without having to install it to the school computers?

Depends on the application. If it requires registry changes, then no. If not, then yes, it will work.

Unless he sets it up so that the registry changes are intercepted before they go out, and has something there that makes the reg check come back as positive. In short a Crack.

Isn't that what the U3 systems do? They have their own little registry and use it to run programs?

If it's a Mac application, most likely all that's needed is to drag and drop. For Windows apps, what JK said.

it is a windows application, could someone please elaborate how i would create this U3 system on my flash drive?
