Title: Letter limit for custom sounds to work?

A map I'm making right now has 5 letters in the name. I remember reading somewhere it can only have 3 if I want to add custom sounds that don't come from the game or other stock maps. My map's name is "krcar", so would I have to make my map again with a name that has only 2 or 3 letters to get custom sounds working?

most certainly not 3 letters i had used 5 and 6 at one point i think

Yeah the map name is not tied to the ability to have custom sounds at all.
It's all dependent on the sound lvl file called in the mission lua, which can be named whatever, no limit placed on it.

In that case I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the sounds. I'm using some of Giftheck's blaster sounds and used Sereja's map assets (and the guides on this website) as guides to get custom sounds working but I'm at a loss still. Maybe if I link my map's files (https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ptrz0ivs7ohjnu/soundnoworky.zip?dl=0) you can diagnose the problem and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
