Title: Setup SWBF1 on PS2
Post by: Nster7 on August 17, 2017, 08:38:13 PM
Hi Guys,

I am new to this website and everything is confusing. I am not a tech wiz but i am a gamer at heart. I recently went to gumtree and brought me a copy of SWBF 1 for the PS2 along with a 64mb memory card and PS2 console.
I really need someone to give me a step by step process for setting this up to play online multiplayer. Any help is helpful and I live in Australia if that has anything to do with online severs.

Thankyou for viewing this.

Welcome, Nick.  I think most PS2 players use a PC with an emulator.  Our PS2 players such as old snake may be able to provide you with information on the setup.

The physical PS2 requires some sort of mod to the card or something...I am not familiar with that process, but oldsnake may be able to assist.

i have a vid on youtube how to setup the dns # using the network startup disc that comes with purchase of network adapter *fat ps2* or bundled with the *slim* ps2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQ_YnBdJ4rM
thats basically all that has to be done to get online for ps2 other than pluging in the lan cable to your router/cable modem/dsl box to the port on the back of the ps2. what ever the client has. please note currently it only works in usa. there are no dnas servers for eu or japan right now.

Note that the EU and JP DNAS gate servers can be set up if you find someone good at web stuff.  The DNAS gate server software is available on github and requires someone knowledgeable about SSL certificates.

hi Led if the players want to play from eu or japan regions they can use a high end pc using the emulator/ntsc ps2 swbf1 iso/network startup disc that i sent to you and drunken master. or they have to get a mod chip in the client ps2. or use a soft mod ps2 with freemc boot installed on the client memory card http://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-MCBoot-1-953-FMCB-Playstation-2-64MB-Memory-Card-ESR-HDL-OPL-MORE-/272776758649?hash=item3f82c30579:g:gA8AAOSwSlBYtJAH using the freemc boot they can use a ntsc disc/iso download. booting the game from a usb stick or burn a new dvd and play on the usa servers like player from germany Pinglucker does. there is some difference in the tv from pal compared to ntsc. using the freemc boot make the client pal ps2 work with the ntsc disc/iso on a usb stick and makes the ps2 region free.
