Quote from: "Thomas"No need for this to be important but I'm changing my alias in SWBF and GR to just Thomas. Just a small update.

Call me whatever you want, poot, nub, AG, aeria, gloris, anything really.

Can I call you the Knight who Says Ni?

(First topic of mine) What do you like more in a shooter like SWBF, Halo or C.O.D? Please answer the poll, but also feel free to post your opinion and your reasons why you voted the way you did.

Personally I love Multiplayer. Battling other people is just so much more fun than bots. People are more innovative, tricky and better shots generally. Also I like being able to chat with other players about the game, life and other menial things. It's never bad to fight your friends. Or enemies.

Nice solution.

I prefer SWBF 1, just because I think it's better all around. The playable heroes are cool, but some of them are sorta akward (like Yoda) and they get alot of fire. Also I don't like the different classes of soldiers. And the exclusion of orbital strikes. Orbital strikes kick (expletive deleted).

Requests / Re: amazing map ideas
February 18, 2009, 08:36:49 PM
I like the Idea of historic battles being put into the game. One map could be something like The Battle of the Somme, with 2 trenches, 6 cps, a river and some turrets along the trench. In the middle is no-mans-land, where lots of killing happens. Another one that I would think would be awesome would be to have 2 old wooden ships sailing along with you trying to board their ship and capture it. You could shoot planks that the other team would use to board your ship and there could be turrets along the ship to stand in for cannons. If you destroy their mainmast, bow, rudder and sails you can claim victory. Jetpack troops would rule that one. The last one I can think of would be a recreation of a medieval castle siege. Good guys are in a castle, bad guys are tryin to get in. Good guys have a moat and fortifications, but bad guys can bust their way in. The Helm's Deep map inspired that one.

Other Games / Re: Funny gaming moments

Once on the Silent Cartographer level of Halo 1 (yes people still play it) I had a rocket launcher, and I blew up a few Jackals (the guys with the shields) and activated the map room. On my way out, I saw one of the jackal's bodies lodged halfway into a wall. It's head and arms were sticking out and such. Wish I had a screen of that...

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Ideas - Theta Squad Objective Two
February 18, 2009, 08:21:49 PM
Instead of dumbing down Theta Squad, why not beef up their enemies? Howabout it's Theta Squad vs. Rebel Commandos? You could make the sides roughly analogous in strength and weapons. The Rebel Commandos are the Rebellion's elite fighters.Give them a map with 6 or something CPs and let them loose? Also some vehicles might make the non-Theta-Squad-side a little more up to the fight.

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / Re: Favorite Map?

Quote from: "Vanir"GUS: Mont Endur is easily my fav. Map. Huge, yes, laggy for people online? probably. but even so, strategy is key there.

I have to agree with that. It's really a crowning achievement in map making.

There's that map that is nothing but 2 command posts in the middle of nowhere...

On this topic, I thought SWBF was pretty boring until I discovered the Multiplayer patch, which led me to find out about the almost-cult following. The downloadable maps and mods make this game much more fun than a console version. I hope I'm not too late.

Some of the maps are more suited towards vechs, and therefore, do not get played as much. I like these maps, and wish that there were non-vech versions available to play with.

I was thinking of a Steve Martin joke.

Quote from: "El Chupacabra"Knowing the nature of the web, I'm sure someone will come up with that mod sometime.

That wouldn't be a mod. It would be an altercation of the game script itself, I think.
Well Excuuuuussse meeeeee!

Oi I think I'm the newest newbie.

I don't really like Yavin 4 maps at all, and I never found shotguns very useful. However the shotguns on the Theta Squad vs. Wookie map are a different story all together...
