Then just make the numbers lower than what is in your .odf. Something like SpreadPerShot = "0.5" or something like that. You have to play with the numbers.

YawSpread = "0"
PitchSpread = "0"
SpreadPerShot = "0"
SpreadRecoverRate = "0"
SpreadThreshold = "0"
SpreadLimit = "0"
That's what I normally do for no spread. I hope that is what you mean.

Yes, the PS2 and Xbox menus can be used in the PC version. They are buggy, however, if used completely in that form (like you have to work around the "Press Start to Continue"). By changing the "PC" or "GetPlatformStr" commands to "PS2" or "Xbox", the .lua will read those menus because the developers kept everything together in .lua. Phobos has done something similar to this with the Tutorials button, but the tutorial videos were not included on the PC version, and the ones on the PS2 are too low quality.
No, this will not get you a spawn screen like on the PS2/Xbox. That is .exe controlled. Only the shell can be changed using this method.
These movies are actually referenced in "ifs_unlockables" in the shell .lua also. They are the concept art and stuff (like Kit said).

It does work on Vista, as I used it on my Vista computer at home.
When you download it, it should run, no problem. Vista just gave me an "Are you sure?" prompt.
Just try it ingame to make sure it didn't already install.

If it gets recompiled and works correctly, does that mean that you (Buckler) will host the Openspy Star Wars Battlefront server from a computer of yours?

it happened to me. its some kind of bug
i hosted a server called {U.E.F}Just4Fun, but i shut it down and server was still up, i tried to join, and same problem u had, happened to me
Anyder, the point of my post was not that it doesn't update. I knew that.
Read closer, and you will see that the point was that there was a server I couldn't join that had stats showing.

So the weirdest thing happened...
I was scrolling through the servers (Internet option) (played a couple of low AI ones) and lo and behold, a new server popped up. The same dedicateds never update which I knew because it said there were 2 people in FC Battlegrounds and there weren't 2 in there for a while. Anyway...
When I was looking, a server came up, the server was named Soul (from the player hosting). I thought it was odd since it was the only new server I've seen all day, so I clicked on it. Lo and behold, the stats were on it like normal (200-200 reinforcements, 1 player named Soul, etc). So I decided to click on it to join. BF froze completely and I had to exit out. When I went back in the server was still there, so I had to do the whole "click, cancel, then click again to join", but right before my second click the server disappeared.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

1.0 should be ok as far as server joining and hosting goes, the server runs off of the same one that 1.2 did (I've heard stories of people downloading weird 1.0/1.2 no cd cracks and for some odd reason being able to see and join both although with a lot of lag).

Direct Connect loaded almost right away for me (of course, 32 AI + my internet = bad, but I still joined, so I am very happy )

There will be no warning if SWBF2 shuts down. Gamespy reserved the right to shutdown their service at any time (regardless of what third party GLU does). We played the day before and the next it was gone.
Anyway, if we could figure out how to compile and optimize the Openspy source, it would probably be nicer than Gamespy, and definitely better than Tunngle (which I have so many problems with on dialup...)
I didn't try to join yet (I haven't been home much), but when I did check, I could see the FC server, so I'm excited. If I would have known the batch files I've been messing with could do all of this, I could have helped.
Stonecold: Direct Connect allows connection through an IP address to someone else hosting using the Direct Connect option. It goes through Gamespy which is why it was left unoperational after the shutdown.

Actually what I was going to use was just a login emulator, I need to find the site for it again. One person who knew a lot (maybe too much) about Gamespy created many tools for it, although I don't understand some of the language of it.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to send the Gamespy link to another url (probably IIS , but even then, what url would I use? Probably another dead end...

I've been researching and there is a possible solution that is quite interesting:
In Battlefield 2, someone (seems like a person who does a little bit of programming) tried to change the URL (like ours), with a failure. BUT, he made a small program that seems to intercept the request for the BF2 Gamespy server and sends it to a local host. Using a Gamespy login emulator, he was able to create a local network that still used his equivalent of an "Internet" button.
More here:

The only hitch is that it seemed like it was only for a local server.

April 16, 2013, 07:28:47 AMQuote from: tirpider on April 15, 2013, 08:22:23 PMThis is interesting, maybe we should poke through to try to find most or all of these references. No doubt some of them are encrypted in the exe, but finding a lot of them may help with finding a solution somewhere.
-edit (again)
In the executable, there is a reference to "http://motd.gamespy.com/motd.asp" along with other asp stuff.
On the OpenSpy site, they have alternative motd servers listed.
It seems that this might be a problem if the game just waits for a motd that never arrives.
