What do mean you can't use them? Also, they're supposed to be colored yellow, so you can spot them easily.
There is a new campaign in the form of a new Galactic Conquest with campaign maps. The campaign follows the Rebel Alliance from just after the Battle of Yavin to the Battle of Endor. There is also a new "era" added to all of the original maps to play them with the units from the new maps & campaign.

Oh cool!  What is the name of the galactic conquest?

When I say I can't use them, I mean I can't select them to be used in instant action.  All of the original maps give me the option of what type of battle I want and in what era, but the new maps don't show that.  I can't select those maps to play on.  And the fact that they're yellow makes much more sense now...

Go to the folder where BattlefrontII.exe is located, create a folder named "Addon" in it and place BDT and AAA-v1.3patch in the Addon folder.

A HA!  Now the new maps are showing up.  The only thing is I can't use them.  They are also yellow colored.

Any ideas of how to fix it?

Also, is there anything else that is added to the game besides the new maps?  Is there a new campaign?

It would be in the instant action menu.  Did you make sure this is in the same directory where you installed SWBF2?

Ohh, this might be the problem.  What do you mean by directory?  The actual game SWBF II that I click on to open the game does not have the Dark Times files.  On the video I watched I thought they were in different places, but maybe I did it wrong...  What would be the step to fixing that?

Then there should be a new "era" called Dark Times and a bunch of new maps. If there isn't, then I don't know what could be wrong, because you appear to have done everything right.

(Disclaimer: this mod only adds stuff, it does not change anything in the original maps and modes. Disclaimer II: I didn't make this mod, I am just helping you with it.)

Where would I see this in the SWBF game?  For example, I went to instant action to see if there were any new maps, but it was only the orignial ones.

Anything else I should try?  Should I move the files to the actual SWBF game or keep them in the .wine folder?

Thank you again for your help and patience Commander Awesome.  Your name speaks of truth.

It's in the wrong place. It should be in a folder called "Addon" in GameData. If there isn't one, make it.

But there is a folder called "addon" in GameData.  It is highlighted in blue on the screenshot.  I don't understand.

Attached is the folder and its contents.  All of what is seen is in my .wine folder.  When doing the mods with the skins, the video said to actually replace files in the game data, and I supposed to do that?

Also, what are the actual things that are added in the mod, like the specifics?

Thanks

I'm really happy you got it to work!

In my tutorial video of how to install the game on your mac I outline how to install 3 different mods, the ones I play pretty much every time I play SWBFII.

The 1.2 Skin patch mod upgrades the look of the skin without losing the ability to play online with those those who don't have it. They look great.

The Dark Times II mod is the greatest mod for SWBFII and anyone who's played it will probably agree. New game modes, new campaign, new sides, new maps. It really is one of the best mods for SWBFII I 100% recommend. I've been playing it for a few years now.

The conversion pack mod is alright, it has it's fair share of issues. It causes the game to crash and the sides are sub-par. For this reason I use Marvel4's conversion pack which is simply add-on maps. It doesn't add a whole lot of data to your game and you can remove maps you don't want. They are all stock sides but each map has hero assault if you like that game mode. Plus the maps look way more similar to their SWBFI counterparts.

Those 3 mods I show how to install on your game in the video.

Hey Kit Fisto, thank you for all of your help and everyone else on this feed.

I am working on the mod stuff and I have gotten the skin patch working, but the Dark Times II mod is not working.  I downloaded it and installed it into my wine folder, but it is not showing up in the gameplay.  Am I missing something?

Thanks again.

Thank you!

Now for the dope mods...  What are the best ones?  Which ones make the game more fun/better to play?

YYEEEEESSSSSS!!!  WOO HOO!  It's working boys.  Thank you for the help.

At first, it was not working, but then I recognized that my version of wine that I downloaded was too old, so I had to download a new version.  I am quite happy I would say.   :tu: :D

Thank you all that posted in this feed that helped out.

The next step is playing online... What should I do to start that process?

As I said previously, you don't need to run SetupBF2 because copying your BF2 files the directory is literally the exact same thing SetupBF2 does.

(Face Palm)  Totally forgot that important piece...  Sorry about that.

So, in order to make battlefront work, I need to use it with wine right?  How do I connect the two?  I have installed the application wine like showed in the video, what is my next step?

I feel like I keep asking dumb questions, but whatever I am doing is not working.  Thank you for patience and help.

Ok, I think I am just missing something...

So I went to the video at 4 minutes and it said to find where Battlefront was installed.  The only thing is that I wasn't able to install it becasue I don't have the "SetupBF2.exe" file or something like that.  It was in the GameData file on your disk, but after searching through all of the files I have, I do not have that file.

I think this might be the issue.  If there is another way to do it or a way to get that file, please let me know.  I am sorry if I am missing something incredibly large here.

Picture of GameData is attached.

Thank you again for the help.

This is what I got, I don't seem to have the "working" file.

Hey, thank you all for the help.

I have 10.11.6.  A pic of the flash drive contents are attached.  I copied all of the contents on to my desktop.  I would appreciate any help at all.  I am already impresssed with this comunity and it is only my first day.

Thank you again.

That file is for installing Battlefront II, so you don't need it. Just skip that step and move your Battlefront II files to (Whatever)\Wine\drive_c\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II.

So, what you are saying makes sense, but right now I don't have a folder for wine.  It is still the application.  I think something needs to be ran through it in order for me to put something in there.  I took a screenshot to show that.  In my documents folder, where Kit Fisto has his wine folder, I have nothing that relates to wine at all.  I don't know it this is making much sense...

Thank you again for all of your help.  If what I am saying doesn't make much sense, please ask a clarifying question.

Ok, so I have a copy of SWBT on a flash drive and I tried to do what the video said, but I do not have the "setup2" file.  Is there any way I can get that or am I doomed.

Thanks again
