I just wanted to say a few things about this;
First of all while I disagree with what Gamespy have done many new games are turned off after 2 years now so 8 years of support (which must cost them) shouldn't be forgotten.

Also while I think as many should complain as possible it should be kept civil, spamming won't help. The one person I have got through to not only gave me the original message I posted but also sent me another telling me about the possibility of using gameranger which I appreciate him going out of his way to do. Gamespy might not be popular but the individuals who deal with us have done nothing wrong.

And finally I have been in contact with LucasArts who just sent me this;
Hi Glyn,
We are currently looking into this issue.
Your case has been escalated to our tier 2 department for review, a tier 2 agent will contact you when have more information in regards to this issue.

-  with Technical support.
It doesn't mean very much but it does at least mean there are still people around at LucasArts.

Edit: The censored bit is just a name of the person I'm E-mailing who i didn't think would like his name published here at the moment.

Of all the negativity and hopeless talk and some hopeful talk, this post I find had the most hope in it. At least it's a sign LucasArts has a decency of caring for one of their best games.

A petition and an amount of money around the 250 mark should set us up for a plead to get the servers back online.

Guys, a petition wont work, lucas arts and gamespy dont care about making people happy, they care about MONEY! They have most likely paid an insane amount of money on keeping servers up and dont want to spend another dime on online play. Now, if the swbf gamers community wrote a check every month that would pay for the servers and then some, the servers would be back INSTANTLY

I've played this game 8 years, and I'm not going to stop now. I will continue to play on Tunngle, and honestly there isn't much of a difference to me. I enjoy playing the FC servers and they are almost getting more traffic now than before. I do feel bad for PLA because their servers are a lot of fun when there are a lot of people, but now it will be hard to get 20 or more people in the server at once.

We can sign some type of petition, but let's be honest, this game is too old with too few players for Lucas Arts to be interested. Don't get me wrong, if someone makes one I'll be the first to sign, but I just don't think it will help.

PLA will be fine.  When we have our clan nights, there will be many of us.

To make events for all Tunngles (Like an event for all clans where we can play and have fun) so that we can see ''many'' players together.

ya i was thinking the same thing, have some tunngle events at least once a week, maybe a few custom maps to. Just somthin to try to get a lot of ppl online.

but ya, this really sucks, been at this game for about 8 yrs now, nvr thought about it just disappearing on me

PLA has not recruited anyone for a while.  Those that are being recruiting lately are from other clans.  The player base is too small to support much.

That said, we can still have some good playing nights. 

The Direct Connection forum will be renamed as GameRanger/Tunngle and we can organize there.
