The 16th of September is when this tournament begins! This will last till the 30th of December.
If you want to take part in the SWBF 2on2 leaderboards please sign up below. Hopefully we can get a good number of players and have some good games. The rules are below.
Rules and outline:
Server Host:
EU Host - Witch-King
US Host - Witch-King
The first 10 teams to join will be be given random numbers to order them in the scoreboard. If you want to move up in the rankings you need to challenge someone within 3 places of you (for example number 7 can challenge 6, 5 or 4). If you win you take their place and they move down one. New teams have to start at the bottom and work up.
Every player is expected to accept 1 challenge a week but there is no maximum. Unless 3/4 players request the presence of an admin, there won't be ingame admins (players will be the ones to countdown). There would be a time limit of 30 minutes per match. There will be no CP bleed (meaning reinforcements will only go down with kills and CPs cannot be captured. Ticket count will be 50-50.
The defender would choose the era and map from Cloud City, Mos Eisley, Citadel and Kamino. Server will also have Fairsides mod following this order:
Storm Trooper - Imp Pilot
Bazooka - Rebel Vanguard
Pilot - Rebel Pilot
Sniper - (Depending on the map, reb sniper or imp sniper)
Special unit - Dark Trooper
Server wont have unlimited ammo, but ammo bots will insta fill all the ammo.
Rules
1.Screenshots SHOULD be taken of all scores, If you don't its alright but the opponent must confirm the score.
2.Custom client mods are allowed.
3.No cussing/swearing
4.Any arguments over matches must be posted the same day
5.Remember this just a game so be nice and play fairly with other players.
6.If you cannot make matches, post here saying so, that way you don't get penalized
7.No tanks (Should be modded out)
8.If an admin is requested for a match the match must start within 10 minutes of the proposed time. It will then start regardless of how many players are present.
9.Matches are based on the position of the players before the match not the leaderboard. Example: If player 5 beats 4 he is then out of range of player 8 even if the leaderboard has not been updated yet. Its not as confusing as that sounds.
10. Challenges must be accepted within 6 days and played 2 days after that or you will be moved below the challenger.
11. The ELO Formula will be applied to each team, and the ELO 2on2 Leaderboards will be updated weekly.
12. Waiting for players set to 2 (so that no random player joins) and it server will have a buffer round of 3-3 tickets.
13. A server in NY will be bought and all the servers will be hosted by NFO. If both teams ask for it, server will be hosted in Germany, Frankfurt.
14. Tk off
15. GCW only.
16. If your partner can't show up one day you may get a sub as long as it's a player that's not participating on another team in the tournament. If the participant prefers it, he'll play alone (if his partner isn't showing up)
Penalties for breaking these rules will normally take the form of a place drop.
I do not think we need "admins" so the only admins will be me (Server admin) and the website mods/admins to update this thread.

This is not exactly a tournament where u schedule match every week at the same time or whatever. It is played when people have time during 3 months. It doesnt have to interfere with any other event.
Also please stick to the topic, idk if there is such map, but u can try the downloads section.
I may not have too much time to practice, but I'll try my best to compete in this!
Oki anyder!, thanks. I was wondering because you are modder, is there a way to change the Cps sides positions, on Rhen var Monastery for example is it possible to switch cps.. CSI are on the highest positions and Clones below.
Is it a way to change it that Clones are on the highest positions and CSI are below.?

Im not gonna repeat myself again, stick to the topic. And yes it is possible, hexediting the lvl file.
sounds like fun :cheer:
EDIT: Maybe Kamino could be an idea for a map also.

True, Kamino added <--
Hey,
You can add me to the interested players list.
Sounds interesting! I'd love to give it a go :tu: Do we have to find our partner our self or will we be randomly picked? I don't mind either way but I may have a friend who'd be interested ;)

U have to find it. I just made the interested player list until they post a team
Yeah I'm interested in the tournament, as well. :tu:
I'll let you know when I've found an interested partner. If I don't post anything again until the day before the tournament, you can go ahead and remove me.

Ok, you can add me to the interested list :) I'll post when I've got a partner
This format seems very familiar. ;)
Maybe there could be a reserve list for people who are easily contactable if someone pulls out?
I would like to suggest a different format for this tournament. Instead of having a list of teams and then moving up or down by playing whoever/whenever, I would suggest a round-robin tournament (i.e. all teams play all teams). So if you have 10 teams, all the teams play each other at least once, maybe twice if time permits. You could score two different ways:
1) By wins - team with the most wins is on top and on down the line. tiebreaker could be least number of deaths or most number of kills.
2) By kill to death differences - The team with the best kill to death differential would be on top and on down the line.
I think this is the most fair way for all teams to play each other and see who comes out on top. All other rules could be the same. Just my opinion.

I would like to second SirPimped's motion.
It would depend on if you want to eliminate teams and thus make a tournament or if you want to have a proper ladder and let teams face each other according to their disponibility until a certain date. Those who want to win will be motivated to play matches. And losing will be more forgiving.
I am interested to participate.
The formats Anyder and SirPimped have presented both avoid any elimination. I do prefer SirPimped's idea since the original format could get repetitive - like it did last time for me, kept fighting the same people over and over.
Sorry for not replying before, I was definitely not gonna answer to all this with my mobile lol

Yea I copied several parts from Helios' post for leaderboards 2.
If someone joins, they join and start from the bottom, idk if his is what u mean. If someone leaves, that player is deleted from the list.

Well, the stock ladder format is fine IMO, if for example the top team has to fight a team which is x10 times worse than them, then it is a waste of time...
Also probably that format will mean that this tournament will last in a week from its start, and i was it to last longer if it is possible..

It is pointless to have a match for example noobs with a team ELO of 2000 vs a team of 2900

I think it would last long enough. If you have say 8 teams, each team has to play another team each week, that would be 7 weeks of matches. If you say each teams has to play each other twice it could be 14 weeks.

I think it would be more interesting and fair for each team play each other. Like Nixo said, it could become repetitive if it's just the same teams playing each other over and over. Just my opinion.

I was joking, I wrote the original rules?. ;)
It would be nice to have a traditional tournament so everyone can play each other other but I did the leaderboard so it was a bit more relaxed. It depends what sort of tournament you want.

There have been recent 2vs2 tournaments? And it would probably be more enjoyable for the majority of players that are less skilled, like myself, since you would just speffectively stay in the same place after about four weeks if that makes sense. You could also take into consideration how little your death count would be to make it more entertaining for a much stronger opponent, so there is still a point in playing (like the DT championship I think).
Again,just an opinion.

If u wanted to have a high KDR that could be easily done camping and im not gonna let players camp just to get the best stats.
Also, Im just making this tournament/ladder like the previous ones, u're free to start an own tournament under your own rules, and structure.
And please, let me know what 2on2 tournaments have been played lately.
In other words, Anyder is not changing the style of this tournament. Perhaps your suggestions are better used in other instances.
I'm perfectly fine with how it is. ;)

Im sorry if i sounded unfriendly but I have a patience limit and probably i shouldnt have answered that way, but still, i'd like this tournament to be like the previous ones. If someone organizes another tournament (DTC is gonna take place in few months) i might also host it in the NY Server so that EU players dont have that "huge" ping difference
I've set up a server called 2on2 Leaderboards, in case someone wants to try it out

That's true, that would also ruin the game making it much slower. It would still be fun, at least it would be for me, just to play a match against a new opponent even if they are much stronger or much weaker.
And it was a question, I wasn't aware of any.
I will be partners with Shazam for the tournament.
I'm hoping to do some recording during this tournament from a player's POV.

Read the rules and find a partner with who to team up. Also search a team name with which to be added.
Coner and I will be playing under the team name {Koshi} for this tournament. Don't know how often I'll be able to practice or play, but I'll definitely be able to at least play the minimum of once a week. Good luck to everyone participating!
count me in ;)
Ill add u whenever im back to spain, in the meantime search a partner please
I'm going to claim the first drop-out from this tournament, simply because I've got a lot of training to catch up on and that's the time I should be spending on figuring out where I'm going to college.
Sorry for any inconveniences.
I'll gladly participate in this. Let me at em'!
Me and Buck will be a team, will come up with a name later.

Updated main post, did u find a name ?
We will be Duck Squad
EDIT: Will likely use {DS} as tag.

Please, all those who are interested players find a partner ASAP. Next Sunday i'll remove this list.
I assume this is cancelled because of lack of people? If people are interested I would be up for some (likely more casual) 2v2 games at some stage.
If there's a chance of this still happening, I might join (with a partner I have in mind but haven't asked yet).
