Please also read the link that is in the first post of the hosts file change. 

Be sure to revert back to the original exe file.

Also, make sure you are saving the file as just "HOSTS", not HOSTS.txt.  It will not work.

Or, if you cannot get that to work, please use this thread with the AutoInstaller:

I couldn't open the swbfspy patch without jzip ..
www.jzip.com
and after downloading it, they let me open the file and move it in my gamedata.
without downloading jzip I had always an error message.

All windows OS are able to unzip files with .zip compression.
