If you mean within SWBF1 or 2 then I say go right ahead. If not, well, we now know EA's policy on standalone fan games.

The question is how you intend to recreate it. Stand alone? Bad idea. Mod? That would be lovely.

But do we really even know much about first assault? all that was ever released was a few screenshots, a trailer, and a basic description of the concept (at least that i recall).

There was also a very brief leaked trailer of it showing some gameplay. But yeah, we know next to nothing about it.
(Or if any of the "info" we DO know about it is even true, as it all came from "leaks".)
