Title: Hosting SWBF with Dedicated Server Software - Full list of Server Commands
Post by: {PLA} Roland on June 19, 2012, 04:40:51 AM
This post (Sticky'ed) http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=1375.0 gives a basic over view of the commands that can be found in your battlefront Server.ini file.

I was wondering if anyone had a complete list of all the commands.

Particularly interested in whether there is a command for the ini file that lets you boot your server with more than 200 ticket counts.

Also interested in whether there is a command to set a password for your server, again in the ini file.

I'm currently setting this manually through the dedi software interface everytime. Pre-setting in the ini file would be much more convenient.

So, as noted, anyone got a complete, comprehensive list? This would be a wonderful resource. Hoping if you do have a full list, you might be able to share.

Thanks in advance

Oh btw, here is a good list of the switches http://www.tweakguides.com/SWB_7.html  you can also find this at one of the forum posts at Lucas Arts.  This however doesn't tell how to set the ticket count! Regards

Hexedit your server exe file to find all commands.

The ini file just appends commands to whatever the GUI is being told to do, then executes a DOS or Command Prompt line.

Because of this you might find some duplication of commands.

For example, if you put "/password squid" into the ini file line, then also have a password set for your server via the GUI, you would end up with two password instances in your command line.

Ticket counts can be handled in a couple of ways:  use the GUI and adjust tickets, use a batch file and specify tickets, or use a batch file and do not specify tickets--then the default will be whatever is in the mission lua.

I suggest that, unless you need the GUI, you just use a batch file.

Note:  batch files have some length limit in win 2008 server that we don't have in win 2003 server.  (If anyone knows how to resolve this issue, let me know!)

Is it possible to add Banned IP's if you are using a batch file?

No.  But there is a way with AutoIt.  PLA Bandit made it.  It is available in the downloads section somewhere...
