SWBF1 Modding / Re: 1.2 GCW Side Builder

Nice.  I think then that this means you can build sides without having to do that super munge on everything using the lucas arts mod tools.

Great!

All units, maximize your score.  This will be hosted without spawn protection--so spawn kill away.

OK, I'm going to lock voting.  We will have recons available for use.

Since teams will switch sides, each side will have equal availablity to the nearest ammo bots.

I will update the first post.

Could you have a backup partner just in case your partner can't be there for the battle?

Well, the way I see this working is that Team A and Team B get together to agree on a time that works
for the 4 players, within about one week for each round.  So let's stick with original teams.

If this tournament is successful, we can try something more elaborate.

Have you seen my VLAN tutorial? That is another possibility.

Do you know if it can support cross-platform play?

Yeah, the recon disable mod is done with a side lvl edit, not a hex edit. It took hours of failure at hex editing to abandon that pursuit. It is something I am studying and testing and might make a tutorial about soon.

Also, I will be signing up for the tournament with Fordo as my partner.

If the server is direct connect will it be /noaim?

Excellent, we have our first team.

I am not sure if /noaim works with the CD version of the game.  I can try it.  I don't have a way to check it though.

I will never understand why the PC version of dedicated server wasn't made to support DC's...

I'm just wondering if battlebelk's no recon mod will be compatible with the custom mission and no cp mods used by the tournament host. It should be, I don't see why it wouldn't.
Why can't battlebelk's no recon mod be used? Did he make gcw only?

It probably could be.  Im not sure where that mod lives--side file?

In any event, if recons are available (still to be determined) then just take out the ammo bots and then the most a team would get would be one per life, since no one can spawn as pilot.

Should teams be randomize or self picked

I would suggest self picked.  If someone needs a match we can pair players though.

Will you be using no recon mod also?

I don't know how to implement that without download, but if you know how we can do that if the participants would like that.

If there is a concensus for no-recons and the mod is not availaable, then it may also be possible to spend some time to figure out how Battlebelk did it.

Hi Jamman,

We will have to determine what teams play each other, then give them a week or so for each round of the tournament.  The date is not set in stone, so we can move it to make it more convenient.  I would rather keep players in it than to have dates that are too rigid.

Try out the sniper tournament DC:

69.246.184.48  (standard map, no download needed)

Let me know if I need to tweak anything.

I will leave it up for several days.

sniper tournament mission.lvl mod

http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=342

It sets ticket count to 25 for each team, and allows only snipers to spawn.

backup your mission.lvl file, and put this in its place.

This will work for PC and Mac servers or the PC dedicated server software.

This is meant to be used with the no-capture cloud city map.

postponed, lack of interest by organizers
