Yea but are there differences between 1.2 version & 1.3 one ?

Note that if you use the BestofPC pack, 1.3 beta will not work.

Below is the readme as available on filefront:

http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Battlefront_13_Patch_Beta;40940

Description:
This is a US only full client patch and you should have the 1.2 patch installed for it to work properly. The final 1.3 patch should be released in a few weeks but in the mean time, install this patch and give it a try. Post any bugs you encounter and I will let the developer know.

This is basically what is fixed,

CHANGES FROM 1.2
-------------------------------------------------------
Multiplayer

* Unlocked frame rate
* Better tolerance of latency spikes and frame rate spikes
* Fixed an end of game hang
* Better smoothing of predicted positions and orientations
* Allow more maps specified from dedicated server command line
* Better Droideka prediction
* Added remote admin support for those hosting dedicated servers
* Tighter clock synchronization under normal conditions
* Fixed joining servers behind most firewalls
* Allow more mod maps (was 50, now 512)

Global

* Fixed CIS Pilot shooting backwards

Happy testing

Hi Roland,

In the original edition 1.0 of SWBF, the game hosts were categorized by global region.  You want a good experience, play in your region kind of thing.  Since internet speeds in general have become much better over the years it's not so much an issue.  Besides, the number of players in the individual regions has dwindled so much.  There were also language specializations.

1.3 beta fixes some bugs--you don't get motion sick playing the deka, for example.  Also, the dreaded end of game hang was fixed.  But 1.3 beta was never an official release by lucas arts.  It seems it was done by someone with the source code, but perhaps not the permission to make an official release (my opinion).
1.3 beta also has some rudimenatry server tools built into the chat feature--advance to the next map, boot a player, without having to enter the game server.

1.2 players can not play 1.3 without the 1.3 executable.  The last time I looked, there were no 1.3 servers or players.

my assumption is that it is the 1.3 beta commands?  is that right?

If so, you can boot a player via chat, end the map, set a new map, etc.

get a new power supply.  if its not keeping the voltage, your vid card will be affected.

They run about $40 (assuming desktop).  If you want help selecting one, look on the back for the wattage, and try to find out what its using.

If you know the brand and model of your computer, we can look up the case form factor.  It takes about 10  minutes and the removal of maybe two screws to change out the PS.

OK, so far, the FC team and Bamdurs team advance in the bracket.  Let me check to see if anyone else has played yet.

Bamdur and scrap, please set up your next match with Crusader and Darth.

Mod Tester and Fordo, please set up your next match with Fire and NiceGuy.

Good matches all!

Bracket has been (poorly) updated.  If someone want to try to edit the html to make it look better, let me know!

I have a question. My friend Smokey said that he fought in this tournament and is all signed up, and here was his fight http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/113852882-4.jpg

I am just wondering if this battle really was official like he says it is, because none of the people who fought are names that I recognize from this community. I don't see him anywhere on the bracket but Smokey insists it was official.

Ya, I have a server setup that anyone can join, called SWBFgamers.com-Sniper-Tournament.  I believe that they think that if they play there, they are in the tournament.  But they need to be signed up here for them to be placed in the bracket.

If both of those teams want to be in the tournament, then thats fine, we can add them somewhere, but that match would not count.

Hi Infiltrator,

Most of us play on PC here these days.  I inherited the website from JediKiller, who inherited it from Weili who had it in its various forms going back to SWGC.

There are still a few Macs out there though, and we are happy to be a resource for all SWBF Gamers!

Seeing how Viking is not cooperative in regards to time zones I request that our pair be matched against a different pair so that we can actually get to fight.

All right, let me re-pair the bracket, or you can get a team to agree to a battle.  Give me a couple days.

The DC server is back up, and I have a good transfer speed.  You may need to play out the tickets on the map to restart it at 25-25 though.

make a suggestion.

It must work with SMF forums.
