Btw you say you got quite a lot of unfinished maps that you would like to finish. Isnt' it a good idea to release the gamma version of those maps??? So that there will be a lot of bugs in it.

The models, is realy based on the game The Force Unleashed, and Bounty Hunter, but they are not converted, they are custom maded by me, with XSI ModTool, PaintShop Pro 7, and HEX editor.
I like to work with lights and effects. With correct light, things become "alive", and very stylish. But unfortunately it overload SWBF1 memory, and the light may just swith off, time, to time. So, I need some tips about decrease light( not effect) LOD visible distanse.
Also, it cud be nice, if somebody, who have real XSI agreed to make and export door animation for my map. If not, I will release it, as it is, without doors at all.
I am surely release assets, after map released, but I will not release gamma version of maps, or it ruin surprise for you. Also, I believe, the maps must be released finished, and bugless as possible, if you wish to get some quality, of course...

Well, this map already takes about 1 year. So, if I still need to add few new models, ajust gameplay, add and edit custom sides (I wish lot of local alien), add movie, and do something with sound, it may takes about 6 month.
Well if I abandoned works at all of the rest, of my unfinished projects, the job may be done faster...

That's funny (I have collage teacher education). Well if someday I need to find new job, vent in other travel (not again!), or some armageddon hapens, I am sure you, I release all I have...
SnAke, you mean "static dummy" locals? No, I need angry "bar scum", they will guard CP's, appear from unexpected places, have some addons, and fancy weapons (well, not fancy beyond the logic). You probably may hard to survive in there... Sorry about that...

Star Wars Battlefront got me interested in 2005, however, about the possibility of editing it I only learned in 2009. It is a pity that this time was not used. Wish you new ideas and every success in their implementation. Hope with time see, and more of your work.

Actualy, I am overload by new ideas, that's why I am always starting new project, without finishing old one. The only thing I am realy miss, it's time, to finish all of them.
But you shold not be sorry about missing time, it's not a big problem. The real important thing, for each beginner modder, it is original SWBF1 game disc. It is out of sale, rare, and almost illusive thing, carried for now, only by few choosen ones...

I have the official version of the SW Battlefront1. The thing is that I used nosd file for that would not have a CD in disc tray always, when it is necessary. But now my disc tray not working properly and I can't change it.

Probably because of that, or of the fact that my Battlefront is on disk D I can't install the update.

Yes, the quality of effects and models will be high, but gamplay sitll need need to be fixed. I must complete the circle of bars.
Now, about nocd sofware: it is a 2 .bat files, already patched to level 1.1, and they are do not want to be patched twice. Possible solution: you must do everything in drder: install the game, upgrade it by patch, named Tatooine3_Update_Eng to level 1.1, and only after that, put in your game folder nocd software. Also, you must remember: nocd is not compatable with more higher upgrade to level 1.11 and 1.2.
The global web shop system, is very useful thing, but probably it works not for all countrys... At least me, or any people, I know, never use it. I buy my disc, in local city web shop, and I pay for it in post office: 100$. Anyway, I am lucky, this problem is not worry me anymore!

No, this information is unknown for me. And lf you find such site, you will anyway need to use credit card. The only credit card free site, I know, is where from I get my disc. This is a web shop, named, swkotor.ru, but it works only for Russia.

It is sad to say, but prodress is minimal:
1. I get busy myself with conversions, and some new models parts creation.
2. I figure out, I can make door animation only, if I have original SWBF2 disc, so, I probably must to abandon this idea.
3. I have well powerfull PC, but effects still freeze the screen sometimes.

Good news:
1. By converting Naboo Theed night, I learn more about lights and effects. If I figure out, how to decrease it at lod distance, the map surely stop crashes time to time.
2. New bar, based on SWKOTORSL almost finished. Some  new effects in it added. I update the pic, just right finished to adjuste it.

The 10$ is surely not a problem for me. The problem is very bad WEB knowlege, and out of credit cards. The only "steam", I know about, it is a water in gas condition, but I think, you mean something else...
The most exceptable payment for me, it is by cash, in post office. If you mean something like that, it's cud be great!

After this one, I decide to finish making new bars, and start to more serious work at this map. Follow suggesting, by kitfisto15678, (experiensed tester), I finish circle of bars, by duplicate already exist ones. I think, the map look's nice anyway, and almost ready to play.
Still, the story with door making, continues: after I learn, how to make animation, I figure out, I probabably make it incorrect, with ModTool. To learn, how it must be done, I have to make lot of tryings, but it is impossible, because I can't export animation. The only hope, for this, it is new version of ZETools (if it ever be released), it seems exist version, isn't compatable with my ModTool.
But for now, I need to have some more absent (juma-juice) :sick:, and hope, my muse, allow me to make this map realy beauty...

Funny, but look's like, I am reach another limit line, of SWBF1: I can't make more then 256 hub's in planing making... It very sad, but I have no other choice, as cut some part of the map... Sorry but about 20-30% of gameplay have to be deleted... :bye:

Also, found some issues of "multi locals" sets: after I made 3th locals, they start to "meditate" sometimes... I try to decrease theyr count, but have no result... Oh, well, hope it isn't much important for overall gamplay...

My idea, with change lights to effects isn't work... But I found reason of light "swith off" bug: look's like, I made my models too big, and they can't reflect many light's at once. So, to solve this problem, I have to remade some of my props. Lucky for me, I did not delete my Scene files yet ;).

I think we figured out how to have era specific animations for you (see advanced modders forum).

You can get a 30 day trial of XSI.  The trick is to learn how to use it before it expires.  If you want a link, let me know.

Thank's, but I am afraid, it is to late for me now... I am loose all my "30 day" chances long time ago... So, the real trick for me, it is to found some "rehister cleaner" programm, which is be able, to kill all XSI "sleeping beacons", sitting somewhere, inside my PC...

Thank's! :) My secret is: I try never think about engine, but just made it with love and care, so, result is surely will be beauty ;).

Last news: I am start to edit well equped local sides, and planing to make special "alien era". Unfortunately, SleepKiller's 3th era invention probably takes a lot of memory slots becouse, at least my "Nar Shaddaa" map crash, after some time of play. It stop to crash, only after I backup new Shell.lvl and mission.lvl. So, my solvation for this, will be, just the second "back up" mission.lvl, that you can always change manualy.

The most it could possibly be using is a few extra kilobytes and that is stretching it. And once ingame playing a map the script isn't even loaded so no extra memory is being consumed. Judging by the quality and amazing detail (And it really does look very beautiful.) I would say it is far more likely that you are hitting one of the safety features put in by Pandemic to make sure the game wouldn't use up more memory than your average 2004 PC had. You could try scaling down any large textures you have, be sure to backup the original ones first.

Well, almost done... I am not sure about fate of talz, since, tripider isn't active anymore, and I don't know, if he ever back to modding again, and finish this model...

Of course, I cud add some more locals, but it may cause some negative attraction to the game: 1st view (hands) may dissapear, slow PC may have lag, size of the map folder may increasd etc.
Still, already exist locals works almost fine, and percent of "meditation" is minimal.
The only real sad issue: my AI gungans (just like any other AI soldier on any of my maps), never used shields :(. Reason: totaly unknown :wacko:.

Chewbacca's model still didn't work in game, but after my edition, it look's, just like it work's ;). So, here the trick: I made real bag invisible, and give him, instead this, maded by me bag addon. That's it.
Yes, background is realy beauty! I like to play this map by myself, and sometimes even forget about "testing and continue modding"... 8)
Still, need to make some more props...

This really looks like the most epic and beautiful star wars battlefront map I've ever seen (including stock maps).
I'm only a bit afraid of lag.

When I finish it enough, for testing, I am surely PM link, to enyone, who want it, but I have to warning you: your first attraction, may be ruined, if you start play on unfinished map. So, if you wish to feel, full quality game, you better wait till official release. ;)

Another bad news from Nar Shaddaa: look's like I overload it, with props, and now, it start crash much more faster, then it usualy crash, becouse of effects. So, I have no other choise, as decrease far view distance. This mean, no more beautyfull buildings, at horizont. :bye:
Still, you may see them, by using zoom.  ;)

By the way, I am upload "alpha" 0.1 version of this map, and so, probably need, for small team, of totaly desperate volonteers, ready for everything.
So, I will wait for "crash test" report, of this unfinished version.

Well, the results of my alpha testers is next:
slow MAC - has super lag, and impossible to play. Solvation: decrease your LOD distance.
fast/mid MAC - works well (as for MAC), but may have lag in some certain places (foggy bars, I guess).
PC - works fine.
Well, it's cud be worst...
What I can say: this map just like an old "Cleopatra" movie - huge, beauty, and overload by everything. If you wish to watch it - get ready went in movie theater. Do not try to see it on tv! :D

Not sure, what this abbreviation (eta) cud be mean, but if you talking about releasing data, it may happens in about 1-2 month, or so. I still need to made few props, barriers, hintnodes and regions, plus sound & movie...

Unfortunately, I do not know, how to making and add custom music, or sound effects, but I can add already exist, stock sound effects. For example, all weapons, vehicles, and infantry sound from one era, didn't work to other, and I can fix that. I am also can add sound regions: it will be isn't correct, if you still may hear sound of the wind, inside the buildings ;).
Still, I can add custom download sound content, by other modders, like trandoshan voice, but nothing more... It is realy shame to me, specialy, after guys, from Gametoast, slice all SWBF1/SWBF2 sound effects... I try to explore many tutorials about that, but got no success in this... :(

New features, I am done:
Some new props, sound, movie, and single player mission.lvl variations:
Local mission: play as "bar scum".
Bounty Hunter mission: play as Jango or Boba Fett.
Jedi mission: play as Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Well, I think, I made all upgrades, I want, so, now this map, is almost ready to play. Ofcourse, there is still exist lot of bugs and issues, but it is impossible (or I do not know, how,) to fix them.
So, I open up final "beta" testing, and PM link to anyone, who wish to test it, and, if you found some new bug, or know, how to fix already known, send me your report.
I will check PM's about a week, or so, and if everything be ok, will release it.

Well, here the fresh news:
1. tripider upload for me Talz, and the model look's nice... Just don't laughting, when you see the lowrez...  :D So, I probably got new hero character for locals.
2. I can't believe, but now I am realy can make working door for SWBF1!!! :cheer: So, now, I have to little remade my map, and this time, it will be almost perfect!
Still, lot of sound problem stay unsolved, plus my imperial NAVY has only addon helmet... Hope someday, tripider, finish this model too...

Yes, if I have more free time, I try to make "Door Pack" assets. It's cud be nice for training my practice skills (till now, I have to read tutorials each time, as make it).
Still, probably most desirable and exotic door to me, it's a "diafragma door", from Kamino. But, it should be compatable, with the same shaped frame, and corridor, so, no sense to make it now... If I only didn't start new custom Kamino map :P...

Funny: I just figure out some bug/issue. The open doors, should be hide somewhere, and if the building small, or hase cylindrical shape, the doors will show up, from outside :D. I didn't think about that, when build my Nar Shaddaa bars...  :confused:

I guess, at last, I done with this map, and it will be released today or so. It's look's almost perfect, and beauty, just like it should be. All my ideas, with doors, and other "impossible things" now come to life. I am realy happy to share my work with you. :)

Features:

1. New props, effects and textures.
2. Edited sides with new effects, reticules, huds, hex edition, and chargable weapon.
3. Alternative mission.lvl's added.
4. 5th weapon added.
5. Lot's of secondary locals added.
6. Decreased weapon impact effects included.

Instalation:

1. Put the 018 folder in your Gamedata\AddOn folder.

2. If you wish to play alternative mission.lvl, back up it, and put the new one, in your C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn\018\Data\_lvl_pc folder.


KNOWN BUGS:
1. Muzzleflash effects become appear in random places. Not sure, but looks like this bug was added by SWBF creators.
2.No sound:
R2D2, rancor, gamorreans, infantry foley (steps).
No sound in GCW: EMP grenade, weapon charge ("com_weap_charge").
Reason: sound making is a most hard thing to understanding for me...
3. Slave-1 as turret works incorrect, so, I have to disable rotation.  Reason: turret making is also hard thing to understanding for me...
4. Sometimes, when you use zoom (3rd person, not snipe zoom), objects may start dissappear, and the game will crash.
Reason: it seems, my map is totaly overload.
So, try do not use zoom, when targeting huge props.


WARNING: my map is still overload with effects, so, if you have slow PC, it may crash or lag!
To solve this problem, you may use alternative sides, with more decreased effects quality, from my Sides folder. Just replace normal sides .lvl to alternative.

STORY:

Normal mission; GCW:

Some members, of rebel alliance, was captured by bounty hunters, and used as "rancor food" for arena intertaiment. Other team of rebels, landed to Nar Shaddaa for resque them.
So, Empire, was interested, such rebel activity, and send troops, to bring peace and order in this sector.
Drunky bar scum, was angry, because of all of this, and start shooting, in everything, that moves...

Normal mission; CW:

Nar Shaddaa is hard to control, and CIS send droids, to make those scum, pay taxes. "Scum" do not like this idea, so, most of droids was captured, and used, for  arena intertaiment.
Republic use right time, for suggest protection, and send troops, to clean and secure this sector.
Drunky bar scum, was angry, because of all of this, and start shooting, in everything, that moves...

Jedi mission; GCW:

Luke Skywalker need to help rebels, escape from bounty hunters, and Empire, so have to protect them, till they capture CP's.

Jedi mission; CW:

Obi-Wan Kenobi need to help clones, clean area from droids, and some negotiations with bounty hunters, so, have to protect them, till they capture CP's.

Bounty Hunter mission; GCW:

Empire pay well, so Boba Fett is ready to capture all rebels, and claim his bounty. Still, have to clean the area, and capture CP's, so imperial main forces may safely arrive. Some other bounty hunters, may stay on his way, so, Boba, have to deal with them first...

Bounty Hunter mission; CW:

Some separatists spy, discover true identity of Darth Sidious, and his real plans, so, count Dooku meet again with Jango Fett. He say, it's cud be a solvation, of both task, in single misson: elluminate CIS spy, and give to the new clones, elite training. So, Jango Fett, track the spy to Nar Shaddaa, and have to capture CP's, so, clone main forces may safely arrive. Unfortunately all other bounty hunters, already aware about this bounty, and do not want to share it, so, Jango, have to deal with them first...

Bounty Hunter vs Local mission; CW/GCW:

The same, just this time, fetts, should hunt for local bounty.

Locals missions; CW / GCW:

"Each time, as new war, come in to the galaxi, those soldiers, become runing and shooting all the time, and do not let, nice local people, safely drink their juma-juice! It is time to finish this mess, and kill them all! Beside, there is surely some bounty for all theyr heads... It is no good to share it with other bar scum... Sorry, friends, it's nothing personal..."

Smuggler mission; GCW: (CW as usual)

Imperial forces, track smuggler vessel, to Nar Shaddaa, so captain Solo, hide the cargo, till everything come down... Jabba was angry about this, so have personaly carry situation. Unfortunately some local scum, already aware about this, and wish to claim cargo, and resell it to Jabba. Find himself, in the mid of this conflict, Han Solo, should sneak among imperials, and hold CP,s till Jabba arrive, and settle the conflict.

Yes, some parts of my map ( arena and some props), realy based on the SWBH game. First levels of it, was space station, so, I just take elements of design from it, and remade it, in strongly SWTFU, Nar Shaddaa style.
So, my map is not continue stryline, of none of those games. It is totaly new story, by me. :P

This is an amazing map, I played it all on maximum settings and it looks brilliant, it must have taken a long time time to make especially all the props. Keep up the good work Sereja :)

Thank's! :) Overall time of creation, is about 18 month. Not sure, what takes more time: creation detalized props, or making it, do not crash, on maximum settings :D.
The method, of creation props, is simple: I switch on my PlayStation2 game on tv, and seat near by, with PC, trying to recreate with XSI, what I see on tv.
Unfortunately one of my next unfinished beauty "Super Project", I can't see, in any game, only few seconds in movie. So, interior of Naboo: Otoh Gungah, will be not so detalized...

Yes Nar Shadaa in Force Unleashed was by far my favorite level. I can't wait until my parents let me download mod maps! xD

Same problem I had with your Tantive IV map it just won't show up in my map list. Shame I wanted to try this one out. I will poke around at it a bit see if I can get it working.

I might suggest that  you take out all other mod maps except Jabbas Palace--but you have probably tried that already.

SleepKiller. It doesn't show up for you cause I bet you have a modded mission.lvl and/or core.lvl instead of your original. When I have unleashed installed any of Sereja's maps don't show up, you have to have your original sides and mission and core.lvl. That might just be my computer, but I would try it with everything stock. I hope you can get it to work!

I try to search, what is connected, my Tantive IV map, and Nar Shadda, since other my maps work's fine to you... So, the connection is next: both of them, was created, with first (not upgraded version of ZE). In those version, I can't make boundary, or it will crash ZE. Anyway, if I remember, last time, you found the way, how to make my map works. Maybe you do the same this time... Or even create a tutorial, like: "How to crack Sereja's maps", if somebody else, found this problem.

So I figured out what the problem was. Fixed it. And I was loading it near the end of the loading cycle my game freezes up. I had to end the process. My computer seems to be allergic to your map. Hopefully I can get it working.

So, my folders was ok? Good to know that, so, I may delete unneccesary link. Still, I may agree with Kit Fisto: probably, you edit, most of your game lvl files, and it's fatal for my maps. At least, I know for sure: your 3d era lvl's invention, crash my 018 map.

Wow! That is my kind of map, a bar in every room. My single core iMac can't handle the graphics very well, slows everything down even at low graphic settings. Amazing job Sereja.

I my portable hard-drive isn't compatible with the PC so I can't transfer the files. I have the pc anyway, so there's no point.
