SWBF1 problem with ai

Hi everyone,
I've been playing some SWBF1 lately and felt like playing with more bots

so i managed to play geonosis with 200 bots on each team (wich is highly unbalanced)

but, I noticed that very often AI will stand still and just not shoot at all.

I also changed the mission for Hoth (100vs100)
and here i can run (as a rebel) to the oposite side of the map, crossing paths with the 100 troopers and not get shot once because they don't fire at me...

am i missing something? or am i just asking too much from the game?

are there any optimization mods that can handle these numbers of ai in SP ?

I've tried the following:
I've decreased the AI to 50vs50 and that worked *for some reason* on Hoth, but didn't do anything to geonosis.
I've done some research and increased the "Aimer" value in the .lvl file to 999 wich is more than enough but still won't help.
I've also lowered my LOD and render distance so the game won't crash whenever i see a 100+ units.

anyone got more succes?
