Star Wars Battlefront: EA Reboots 1 and 2 / Re: EA SWBFII Discussion Thread
December 27, 2017, 10:17:21 AM
With the Introduction to tons of new mods appearing for the game, I personally have been playing the game a lot more!
This is the list of mods that I am currently using; Frosty Tool Suites released an update on Christmas Day that allowed all the modding community to start packing all of their mods into the game, I have some examples.
The CIS Overhaul Mod: Changes the textures of the Trade Federations ships and vehicles into their proper look, and popular look:
Then you have the Skin Selector Mod: This unlocks the hidden customisation option that is already built into the game which allows you to change your troopers skin: Twi'lek Specialist: (Works for both Rebellion and Resistance). 104th Wolfpack: (Works both in Phase 1 and Phase 2, other players can see you using these skins, so they will question you.)
Now then, I personally think with the mod community growing and more mods being developed, I wouldn't be surprised if EA tries putting a stop to it. But, mods have been known to keep games alive for longer than their set lifetimes! I've been using this skin selector skins online for the past 2 days and have not been banned, so I doubt EA/DICE will ban people for using these mods as the mod simply unlocks their own system that is already in the game but hidden.
I just hope mods continue to get developed and released and that DICE and EA doesn't do anything, I personally think that DICE would welcome it, but EA will probably be the people to put their foot down.

Released Assets / Re: TESB Valken-38
December 02, 2017, 01:37:31 AMQuote from: Gistech on December 01, 2017, 07:20:00 AM
This is a revision of my Valken-38 weapon model. I looked at screenshots of The Empire Strikes Back and made a realisation: that gun Dengar is holding is NOT a DLT-19, so I did a Google search. Turns out that Dengar is holding an unnamed gun very similar to the Valken-38, but based entirely off the MG-42 instead of what the Valken-38X is based off (the barrel of the MG-34 and the rear end of the FG-42). So I went back and did this to make it more accurate to the weapon Dengar wields in The Empire Strikes Back.

It's not the DLT-19? Then we've all been wrong this entire time?

I don't suppose there's been an update?
Not yet, I'm in the Discord group and we haven't been given any updates yet. We're still waiting.

Star Wars Battlefront: EA Reboots 1 and 2 / Re: How to rip 3d Models from this game?

The new games? Nope. Best look elsewhere.
Models from the 2015 battlefront were ripped from the game... So it is possible, but I don't know how they did it.

Star Wars Battlefront: EA Reboots 1 and 2 / My thoughts on SWBF2EA
November 14, 2017, 02:39:37 PM
Spoilers may be involved.
So far; I've played a lot of the game recently and I've finished the campaign under 5 hours, and played tons of multiplayer matches!
The Single Player Campaign is very short and resides around Iden Versio finding out what Operation: Cinder is actually about. And that is the incineration of planets that the Emperor had pre-selected before his death. Planets include: Vardos and Naboo (Probably more but the New Republic destroys all the satellites and prevents them from using them again.) And, some of the chapters don't even have you playing as Iden. You either play as, Luke, Han, or Leia. And in the last chapter, you play as Kylo... This whole campaign is just... bland. I was easily able to find out what was going to happen at the end; Which was the Battle of Jakku where the Empire fell and then Iden and Agent Del actually had a daughter (Who I think could be Rey, but who knows?) And then, the first order rises..
My review of the campaign and rating? 5/10. If it was longer than 5 hours, then I'd give it a higher rating.
And now, multiplayer. Multiplayer is very fun and mostly balanced. You get tons of maps and different situations of the maps, currently on Deluxe Edition people can access the game which is why HvsV is so empty and dead... Because not a lot of people play it. The heroes are very well balanced, I managed to get enough credits in a day to get Vader! Which I was pleased about, as he destroys in multiplayer. The lootbox system does let it down though, which changes my view on the rating. But other than that; As there is no customisation, I'm not going to give it a high rating.
6.5/10
Better than the campaign by far, even the 2005 SWBF II campaign was better than this campaign.

Welcome Center / Re: Hello all
November 10, 2017, 03:57:20 AM
Welcome! If you're wondering on how to get V1.3 working, there is a mod on moddb that is the v1.3 but works with the new GoG patch!
Other than that, glad to see the community is returning!

Star Wars Battlefront: EA Reboots 1 and 2 / SWBF2EA Gameplay Footage of Full Version Released by Youtubers!
November 08, 2017, 05:57:56 AM
A lot of footage from the game is currently being released by the youtubers who took part in the EA event to play the full game.
A few of them include:
https://www.youtube.com/user/HelloGreedo/videos
HelloGreedo has released the most so far, but BattlefrontUpdates is currently releasing a way more interesting video:
Developer Interview:
Most of the footage that HelloGreedo shows, reveals to us a brand new look for phase 2 clone troopers on Kashyyk!

So far, this footage shows great potential for the game. I am still hyped for it! Come faster November 14th!

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Dissecting the EULA of the mod tools
October 14, 2017, 02:19:17 PM
Is this for the original SWBFII?
If it is, it's going to mess up most of the modding community.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005 Original) / Re: The original Bespin map from SWBF 2004

I'd like to report that I have found a mod launcher that fixes the mod crashing on launch issue; Credit goes to Marauder74 who messaged me on Discord telling me there is a mod on ModDB that fixes the issue.

I think at the moment the only advice I have heard is don't install it, or roll back if you already have. I believe they're investigating exactly what was changed in the patch and plan on releasing a 'revised' 1.3 which should allow those mods to work again.
How do I roll back from this version? Do I just install the old v1.1 patch and keep that?
