Title: SOLVED: Win10 Issues for SWBFSpy
Post by: Anyder on June 04, 2016, 11:49:47 AM
Apparently a SWBFII player called ulqui told me that he's not able to play swbf2 anymore (after replacing the SWBF2 exe for SWBFSpy)
He says it's cause of DirectX 11 or something like that, is anyone (who has win10) able to tell him what he can do to fix it ?

Can you find out if he is using steam or the disks to have installed the game?

With Win10, it could very well be the updated DirectX. I wonder, if he used the Disk version, did he choose to install DirectX version that comes with the BFII install? (that may be automatic but I don't recall)

That would be an older Dx version and he doesnt wanna downgrade in case he's not able to play newer games

Windows 10 wont let you downgrade to 9 anyway.

I have installed using disks on windows 10 and I will give it a try.

Right  now, the stock game works, downloading patch now.

Update:
I have direct x 11.2 on windows 10, and I installed the game from disks, then udpated to v1.1, then installed the patch and it works fine.

Very true. I really had not considered that.

Does that have anything to do with the Stereo Mix device you have to activate under the Recording tab in your sound settings? I know on older computers, SWBFII would crash if that device wasn't active, and I had speakers plugged in. On Windows 10, it comes automatically activated, but is there a chance his is deactivated?
