Title: SWBF poem contests (For Museum)
Post by: Snake on July 01, 2013, 08:23:00 PM
Alright, I know you guys may be thinking "wow, I hate writing poems" but this is not homework! This doesn't even have to really be a poem. I just need a 10-12 line summary of what SWBF has meant to us and how many memories we've made. The winner will have their poem put in the first foyer of the Museum. If they're all crappy, well.. darn. :P

Here's some tips:
-Remember! Remember all the fun times you had on a random server or with your clanmates.
-It doesn't have to rhyme. It just has to make sense.
-Think of how awesome it will be to get together with your friends on this map and say "Yeah, I wrote that.  :shady: "
-Seriously, give it a try.

Haiku's are like 3 lines, but I need 10-12 lines.

Something initially tells me there isn't going to be any (or at least relatively) good poems..
I don't think any of us are good with words :P Maybe Unit, he seems to put a nice little spin on what he says every so often.

Well, he is British. They tend to talk more cleverly, I think.  :P Either way, give it a try!

Three things British folk are good at. A. Creating empires. B. Talking fancy. C. Comedy.

Rockets are blue, lasers are red.
Whizzing past your face they go, humming along ever so.
Running down the hall you may be, but so is the enemy.

Watch your jumping or you'll get hit.
Or so proclaims BIGMATT at least.
Grenades will be thrown and you must roll, but doing so will take it's toll.

Now comes the rescinding moment.
As you are at last hit.
The jet slipped in behind you.
Taking his shot while you hid.

I do not know what I am saying, I just know what I am playing.

Did I seriously just write that? Eh, might as well post it now. Maybe it will give some of you a laugh!

Lol, thats great SK.. This NEEDS to be on the walls.
..
Ehhe, a turnip tending tends to take time.. As does writing rediculous rhymes for round-a-bout regalement.
I may try my hand at this, if I find the time to do so.

Well that is heavily disputed. As long as the comedy is clever and not crude and stupid then it can be funny. Maybe.

Nice poem SK! Be honest you thought that up all night ;)

If I didn't excel at this like I excel at art I would do it.
I suck at art.
Thanks for upholding national stereotypes everybody.

POETRY:

At last it began, re-spawn from the count of ten!

Perhaps I should have chosen the Sniper,
That gun's deadly as a venomous viper.
They had the player advantage it's true,
Our team was poorly trained and far too few,
Their mechanical terrors had taken lives,
But all that has not been lost may yet thrive,
With entrenched turret I slew their assault,
But our defence was not without severe fault,
We could not hope to counter their quick pace,
Imperial troops had entered the base!

Hahaha, sorry, I couldn't resist.  :D

On an on-topic note, I love the poems but these are too... funny! I think I'll have to make a little poem room or something.

Not sure, is this cud be calls a "poem", but seems, I can write something anyway:

A story of city, here should to be told.
A city of Nar Shaddaa, so, behold!
Was builded by glorious sir "rifleman"
This jewel share beauty for any fan.
The vertical bars, and arena for fight
A maze corridors, so lost you are might!
All kind entertaiment to find there be able
A lot juma-juice, and girls on the table.
A scum any kind was engulfed those city
So any good knight try to make them be pity.

Well... I tried.

From the enemy command post
comes that which is dreaded most.
The whirring of the Droideka wheel,
a mechanical monster made of steel.
It will kill you if you do not kill it first,
into its shield your rockets burst.
In the face of this horrific onslaught,
fear is but an afterthought.
The dreadful enemy is repelled,
But there is no time to revel—
Signaled by the Droideka's death knell,
comes more resistance for you to quell.

Smiley face generally means it's friendly, not confrontational.  ;)

I'm flattered by your weirdo obsession with my nationality, but it's derailing the topic.

Write some poetry.

The Rocket - By Gold Man

You're ready to face them all,
Beat them down the hall.
You think you can take out all the troops,
Like you're shooting those hoops.
You pick your favourite class,
The one with the most mass,
You think his rockets will kill,
With the most absolute skill.
You take the shots, lay the mines,
You think that you're just doing fine!
Until the one sniper takes you out,
And your heart fills with doubt.

I'm not much of a poet, figured I'd give it a shot though, does it sound good?

pretty sure this is long over due but last night i was looking at old files on my computer looking for something else i wrote about tcf and hoth or rhen var and i found this instead...i dont recall who i wrote it for, why i wrote it, when i wrote it, and im pretty sure i mightve plagurized it somewhere but i tried to find out from where and couldnt figure it out...i do remeber it was like a first draft and i havent changed anything still so enjoy

We have charged hoth in an atat,
to the trench run in an x-wing,
Trekked the valley of dune sea,
screw the terrible ping,

We have walked among the wookies,
through the ranks we were lead,
They stood like new guys,rookies,
with rifle in hand we were never dead,

The geonosian and her family,
they kiss like you and I,
In the morning and come the evening,
they take to the sky by and by,

I look back across the maps,
thankful you were there,
To have my back watched by you,
there was little to no despair,

If tomorrow holds true,
and i never see you,
this is something i will never rue,
i never had the chance to say but i love you.
