I tried editing some .LVL files after having downloaded this,
http://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsbattlefront/mods/365/?

but when I extracted the files, how do I pack the files back to .LVL?

It will only give (some) textures. Best not to waste your time with it, and just learn to mod.
