Well in most places they are the same, the ALX X58 has half the ram, but it has a better processor speed, and comes with some nice accessories. (cost an extra $200 to get the same amount of RAM as the XPS 730x H2C high end).

Neither come with monitors but I think they both offer a 22" for about £200ish...

Which would you recommend for being able to handle the newer games in the future? (like 3 years from now)

IMO your best choice would be to get a PC. If you really must you can use a virtual booter to run OSX on it. But a custom built PC=much cheaper and better than a mac in terms of running games. I believe red and voldelf can help you if you want to learn how to do it. Maybe you could even use their parts list. I believe Red can run Crysis on max settings with like 100 FPS.
