So yeah, a bit of help is needed now, because I know that it won't munge on X64 systems and that it won't allow me to work by trial and error as I usually do...

But you can munge sound and music on 64-bit systems if you've got the fixed and improved munge files:

Were the sounds playing before you made changes to the sound.lvl? Because normally when you create a new map all the sounds (like switching weapons, lightsabers) should work fine.

I have gotten the sound to work correctly on my mod map (hooray!). I would like to get them to work on the vanilla maps as well, so I started with Endor. I pasted the .wav file into endor's effects folder and added the end1gcw.asfx file. Then I added the sound properties code to end1gcw.snd, munged it in C:\BF2_ModTools\data_ABD\_BUILD\Sound, and replaced the end.lvl file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\data\_lvl_pc\sound with my munged file. All the sounds play fine except for my new sound. I feel like this should work since it is similar to how it works with the mod map, but it seems I'm missing something.

I may be wrong here because I haven't modded sound in a while but isn't it necessary to put "dc" in the Endor LUA file. To be honest, I've never added sound to a vanilla map so I'm not sure what's gone wrong.

Thanks for the reply! I am using a 64bit computer, so if you can direct me to the sound munge fix, that would be nice. Also, what do you use to keep .wav files in the appropriate format?

This is a link to the fixed munge files that should enable you to munge sound on a 64-bit.

To make sure my sound is in the right format, I like to take .wav files I know work in other mods. Then, I use an audio program like Audacity to replace the audio within the .wav file. That way, I know the .wav is formatted correctly. I'd recommend downloading some assets from the "downloads" section and taking a .wav out of a sound folder there.

If it still doesn't work, let me know. I haven't actually looked at your .req files yet. I just assumed that the problem was the 64-bit.

I'm not expert on sound and I'm pretty lucky to have got it to work myself. But I'll say this:

If you're having problems with sound, consider these 2 issues. Firstly, sound munging doesn't work properly on a 64-bit PC without the "fixed" munge files. Are you on a 64-bit computer?

Second, the .wav files need to be in the format  22 kHz, 352 kbps, 16 bit, mono. I think there are exceptions but generally I try to keep my sound files in that format.

If moving Deathregions was possible, a Battle Royal mode for the game may emerge.

Those look great. Can't wait for the Unreal Engine 4 remake. I actually thought those final screens were from Free Radicals original game when I saw them first. I hope it's not shut down in a similar fashion to Galaxy in Turmoil.

EA Battlefront 2 is doing a Han Solo season of content right now and are sure to release at least one map based on the film. Are there any maps that people are excited to see in EA BF2 or excited for mappers to make for the original Battlefront games? I can't really think of any good maps from the film. It's tough because there are no large battle scenes like there was in Rouge One. There's really only Mimbam (the mud planet) and that's it.

So the new Star Wars film is out now and I wanted to see what everyone here thought of it. I thought it was decent. Not a story that really needed to be told but an enjoyable way to spend 2 hours.

You can munge on a 64-bit but you need the fixed munge files. They can be found here:

SWBF 1 and 2 Tournaments / Re: SWBF1 Cup Ideas

What about those ICW tournaments that were done a few years ago? What happened to them? Maybe this new tournament could be ICW7?

Requests / Re: Spaceballs mod?

That's an interesting idea! What would that mod be like? Would it depict the battles in the film? I know there's a Starship Troopers mod out there but I've never heard of a Spaceballs mod.

Some more early concept art from what would've no doubt be a great game. Sadly, it seems it wasn't meant to be.

What does everyone think of how this game was shaping up? There were evidently going with a non-canon campaign which may have been a controversial choice. But the planned scale of this game was clearly enormous and it obviously would've focused on story much more than any other game in the series.

I'm trying to think if Rockstar has ever published a game that wasn't top quality. GTA Advanced maybe? That's the only one that didn't turn out to be one of the best games of all time.
