Quote from: Bluetothestars on August 21, 2022, 06:06:36 AMOkay, so now I got there to actually be stuff in the LVL PC by using the 'visa munge fix', however, it crashes my game when loading my map or even when replacing none modified sides with the original ones, there's something weird going on, I do get this error though:

ERROR[levelpack all.req]:Expecting bracket, but none was found.
File : munged\pc\all_droid_r2d2.lvl.req(1)...

that helps.  Check your REQ file.  You are missing a bracket.  I know that you have already read that error, but track it back though the file.
Did you edit or create your own REQ file?

Also, make sure the location of your mod tools is a folder name *without* and spaces, e.g. "SWBFmodtools"  is OK, but "Program Files SWBF mod tools"  is not.

can you post the munge error?

I think you will find tutorials in our tutorials section.   But what is the error?

GDH mentioned that the issue was tracked down to a router issue and a reboot fixed it.

hmm. can you send me your IP address that you usually use?

I don't think we are blocking any IPs on SWBFspy.

Here are ports that need to be opened if hosting a master server at home behind a router:

27900  (appears to be used by both game hosting and MS hosting)
27920
28910
29910

I am not sure how in-date this site is...but this looks fairly comprehensive
https://sites.google.com/site/swbf2modtoolsdocumentation/getting-started

We are mainly SWBF here, but some dabble in SWBF2.

Gametoast.com is also a good SWBF2 resource.

Since that map already has vehicles, I will suggest you start by just changing an existing vehicle out for the one you want.  That way, you will know if you mission file is doing what you want it to do, and that all of your files are in the right places.

(The SWBF modder's moto:  One change at a time! )

You can have an entire team of Darth Vaders against a team of Luke Skywalkers.  It will just take a mission.lvl mod.

Quote from: Perondas on May 31, 2022, 09:14:44 AMHi,

I am trying to host a SWBF server for a couple friends of mine. We have used the usual in game method of hosting a game trough SWBFspy, simply by using the MP menu.
This did work, however things like the host alt-tabbing would crash the server, and in general we'd like to use a dedicated machine.

I looked up a couple of threads on this forum and found these:

I followed the instructions, opened port 3658 TCP/UDP on both my computer and my router.
However the server never showed up in the server browser.

You need to be sure to forward the port from the router to the server computer IP address.  And it is more than just 3658.

What router do you have?

This guide should also work for SWBF2:  http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=1375.0

If you still have trouble, let's get on discord and we will go through it step by step.  (first we will just make sure the server shows up in the server listing, then worry about hosting and playing later).

Should you wish to delete your account after creating one, select Profile, Actions, Delete This Account to request account deletion.  Emails or PMs to delete accounts will be ignored, as the in-forum process will ensure the account holder is the requestor.

Quote from: Antstafer on May 25, 2022, 10:04:35 PMHey if anyone ever runs into this problem, you need to set the MaxParticles to MaxParticles(-1.0000,-1.0000);. This will create an infinite loop of particles, sort of like a fountain effect. Took me way too long to figure out.

nice find

You can read this post for details on hosting with batch files (command line interface):

I'm still looking for the list of commands and what they do...some do nothing.  More later

This is for 2004?  I don't think that is supported. I will edit this post with allowed commands soon.
