It is not possible. I tried very hard a long time ago to find a way but was unable. If you attempt to change the name in inside the file with hex editing, it will not load in the game. There are 4 bytes of data at top and maybe bottom of the file that sort of reflect total file size, name, progress etc and if you change the name you'd need to recalculate those 4 bytes of data to reflect your new profile name which no one has done.

Sounds like what you want could be done by using the invincibility cheat before launching a session. I forgot how to do cheats on PC but should be easy to find on youtube or google.

First you need to learn basics of mod tools, mainly how to recompile an existing world. When you reach the point of understanding that, get the world you want to edit, and in the "world1" folder (world2, world3, etc) you will see a file with the .sky extension. open this file in notepad, and there you can see certain settings for things. also see the file with a .fx extension, it also can control sky stuff.

For BFX, your instructions would be;

1) Copy BFX from the PC game's Addon, make an Addon folder in the main dedicated server folder, and paste BFX there.
2) Copy BFX from PC game's SIDE folder and paste it to the dedicated server's SIDE folder.
3) Delete the sound folder from the server manager's main _LVL_PC folder, keep it has been known to cause issues with mods.
4) Finally, open up the server manager and check anything with a or b era, those are BFX levels, then start your server.

It's a good game as long as it's not compared to the originals. Needless to say I haven't played SWBF EA and don't intend to.

The SWBF1 engine is very primitive in terms of coding. There is almost nothing you can do. That is why there is only a conquest mode, because other game modes require unsupported scripting functions. The only thing I can imagine having on fake console is a skin changer mod, because textures can be manipulated using a simple file calling function.

Replacing gamespy with swbfspy targets more items than just domain names so it's more than likely you broke game code somewhere. To tell the hex editing app to be more specific, replace gamespy.com with swbfspy.com

If you got a backup game exe I recommend starting over to be sure everything goes well.

Sometimes files get added/loaded from here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
If you have this directoy, delete it completely starting with LucasArts.
